Notes
Housekeeping: Are folks working on the loan rule generator? Several are. There is some confusion about what it is supposed to do. It is not clear if it is the rule that isn’t correct or the generator. Can the priorities be re-sequenced? The top priority is set across the board and not per rule. There are questions about how the “parking lot” is scanned. Can put infinite number of items into parking lot but what differentiates them? There is no hierarchy in the parking lot. Also, people really dislike the term “parking lot”. We will ask Oliver to come back so we can ask questions.
Holly: Cancelling Fees/Fines: Holly took us through the exercise of cancelling a fee/fine. Discussion about the language and the use of the term “cancel”. We would like a confirmation that the action has taken place. If the operator does not have the needed permission to do so, a supervisor must override. They would sign in to do so but their credentials would only be valid for that operation. We are not sure how this works but would like it to then roll back to original operator. This also needs to logged in the history. It is not possible to cancel what has been paid, that becomes a refund. Discussion about the “x” in the upper right hand corner – what does it do? Many found this confusing and would like it gone, if possible.
Tania: awaiting pickup: What message should appear if trying to check out an item to patron Y if items awaiting pickup to patron X? All agreed this should be a rare thing. We would like the title of the item and barcode as well as the name of the patron trying to check it out (patron Y). We do not want the name of the patron it is awaiting pickup for (patron X). No need for override in this situation.
Tania will be talking to folks in Sys Ops and would like the names of the software being used in high-density storage. Please send her your software name, if we did not discuss it.
Holly: Fee/Fine History Page: Holly took us through payment methods. While credit card is listed, there is no integration at this time. Transaction information box could contain credit card info (this would vary by state/country). She walked us through the quick pay down, which would pay off the smallest fines in full first and would most likely result in a partial fee/fine, depending on total amount paid. Can this automatically send a receipt to patrons? There is an “export’ icon that would give us 3 options: send email receipt, get a receipt formatted for printing or export csv file.
