About Meetings during COVID-19

Sharon

About Meetings during COVID-19:

Given that we all need to have time and energy to adjust to this new reality, Reporting SIG meeting attendance will be optional for the next few weeks. We will continue to offer the meetings as a form of support. Small group coordinators are encouraged to work with their teams to determine what is best for the time being. During our Reporting SIG meetings, participants may offer light status reports on activities, and no major decisions impacting our work will be made during this time. We plan to return to our normal meeting routine after April 14, but we realize that it is difficult to predict the impact of the pandemic over the coming weeks. We may need to change plans again.

Updates from Various Reporting Related Groups and Efforts

Community & Coordination, Reporting Subgroup Leads

Project updates

The Reporting SIG is using small working groups to address priorities and complete our work.  Each week, we will provide updates to the Reporting SIG from these various reporting-related groups and efforts.

  • Community & Coordination:

    • Looked at tables for removal from LDP and got confirmation from developers to remove

    • Discussed finalizing LDP table name changes (adding prefixes)

    • Reviewed assigning "fix versions" to JIRA issues for clusters; if a query is assigned to a particular FOLIO release, the query development needs to be done one month before the release is planned to allow time for query review

  • Development:

    • Table name changes have been implemented in latest version of LDP; will need to update existing queries (Angela can do ones on GitHub, but please start editing queries in progress)

    • FOLIO Schema parser has a new feature to start tracking connections between tables, will try to find a way to generate ER diagrams automatically

  • RA/UM Working Group: @Angela Zoss (Old) and @Sharon Markus identified a group of RA/UM reports that needed to be clustered; we went through all of them and closed out duplicates, or created in-app tickets where applicable, and the rest need to included into RA clusters. These contain personal data but will be needed by US institutions. The RA group is looking for people who can assist with prototyping; we need subject matter experts who can help us identify data elements needed in reports, as we do not have examples for most of the reports in our clusters.

  • MM Working Group:

  • RM Working Group:

    • discussed strategies for connecting clusters to large reports such as the ARL report; one report may connect to more than one cluster

    • adding several reports from Resource Access that need to be recategorized as RM reports

  • ERM Working Group:

    • discussed various options for connecting electronic holdings to a knowledge base

    • discussed how one report may connect to more than one cluster

    • creating several new reporting clusters to capture ERM reports

      • ERM eUsage Count Cluster

      • ERM Agreements Count Cluster

      • ERM Agreements Costs Cluster

    • adding several reports from Resource Access that need to be recategorized as ERM reports

New Slack Channels for Working Groups

We have created Slack channels for the new Working Groups, in case they wish to use them for their own intra-WG discussion:

  • #reporting-mm-wg

  • #reporting-ra-um-wg

  • #reporting-rm-erm-wg
