July 2020 Reporting FOLIO FORUM Presentation Outline

As part of our July Reporting FOLIO Forum presentation, we would like to provide demonstrations of the work we have been doing on developing report queries for each of these reporting areas: RA/UM, MM, and RM (ERM is not yet ready for demos).  To prepare for this presentation, we'd like someone from each of these subgroups to do a trial run of showing a sample query at the Reporting SIG meeting on Monday, June 8.  (We are still getting an exact data in July.)

What queries seem most ready for such a demonstration from each of the subgroup areas?

  • RA/UM - Lost and Missing items or Claims Returned - need to confirm what is working best with test data

  • MM - HaithiTrust query

  • RM - RM-Title Count Cluster

Environment to use to run query: folio_release

Time allotted for this presentation: 90 minutes

Introductions, Setup, and Overview (Peter Murray) - 5 minutes



Development Overview for FOLIO Reporting (Nassib - FOLIO Reporting PM) - 5 minutes

  • FOLIO Reporting development

  • LDP Project and other related development projects



Community Development of Report Queries (Angela) - 5 minutes

  • data sources and limitations of test data set

  • query final review and testing for both PostgreSQL and Redshift

  • query demo tool being used today 

  • these queries are models that are available on GitHub in the report query repository

  • report writers can use the base queries to adapt their own

Show variety of tools if possible, e.g. Microsoft Access, DBeaver, Aquadata Studio
