Updates from Various Reporting Related Groups and EffortsVarious

The Reporting SIG is using small work groups to address priorities and complete our work. Each week, we will provide updates to the Reporting SIG from these various reporting-related groups and efforts:

  • Community and coordination
    • Looking at a new approach to delivering the data warehouse, and that will be explaining in full as a main topic for a reporting SIG meeting. Blockers are causing trouble with the previously developed architecture. Nassib has come up with a solution that will avoid the blockers but it affects the ways queries will be written. Will have either half or whole meeting to have Nassib go through that with people. Capacity planning has been a big focus. Also have made some progress on procuring test data (from Chicago and FOLIO).
  • LDP Report Working Group
    • Needs to work with main Reporting SIG to prioritize reports to work on.
  • LDP Data Privacy Working Group
    • See next agenda topic "Reports with Personal Data"
  • LDP SysOps Working Group
    • No updates, except that LDP software will be changing so everyone has to update
  • Software development
    • Mostly just onboarding a few new people, Roman still working and making progress on things like test data for current query priorities
  • Others?

Reports with Personal DataReporting Data Privacy Workgroup

The Reporting Data Privacy Group has identified reports that contain personal data.  These are highlighted in RED in the spreadsheet linked below.

Flagged FOLIO Reports - Personal Info

 - See Jira notes for each report; most of the reports we looked at during the 8/12/19 meeting may be suitable for in-app reporting. We will need to continue today (8/19/19) to get through the rest of the reports.

RE: Ad-hoc reports: we should keep in mind that for US universities, anonymizing personal data in the LDP will be an option (a switch that can be turned on or off), but the European universities will not have this option. So we shouldn't be developing reports that the European universities can't use, but instead these can be run as ad-hoc reports for US universities. See UXPROD-1873 for more details/constraints on ad-hoc reporting.
