View of patron data in checkout
If a patron has fines or is blocked, do you want that brought to your attention?
Have the pop-up state “patron is blocked due to excess fines of XX.”
The message in Ole is hardcoded so it will not be interpreting the rule and adjusting the language.
Who is allowed to override ; what does a person who does not have override permissions see
Skip having a pop-up; no you want a pop-up.
Has to be at the moment that you scan to patron; you have to see the block
How do you investigate this? Always do this override. Need some way of backing.
Patron may have multiple reasons for being blocked so patron record should also indicate block issues
Pop-up is a reasonable approach; don’t make clicking loose where you are at.
When there are multiple reasons for person being blocked; it would be one pop-up that lists each violated rule.
Is there any scenario where you wouldn’t want to look at the patron record? Sometimes
When viewing patron data on checkout, visually indicate the blocks.
Fees and fines
We do have some ability to manually enter in fees for not automatically generated fines to patron.
Fee owner would default to our owner.
Fee types
Fee amount
Barcode possible but not required.
comments; it would be good to have comments be updated.
We were going to require that the fee type would be in the fee type list. Cannot make it up in fee table. Amount has a default from table but can also be entered.
Owner can be the institution or main library
Is fee waivable; refundable.? Is this necessary? No.
