Notes
We reviewed the Check-in Challenges list that Andrea created. Additional entries:
- need to have a way to know who the borrower was (immediately after discharge). This is different from retaining borrower information in a circ history archive. Borrower information could be viewed during the check-in session. We agreed that a separate conversation was needed about retention of borrowing history.
- we need to be able to record notes that pertain to the discharge (when necessary)
Review of latest wireframes (Cate):
- need call number prefixes, enum/chron
- clicking on the title should take you to the item record detail
- item statuses list could be concatenated to save room
- should have a link (or a way) to re-sequence requests
- Actions menu
- Export icon
- How to view full circ history? Options discussed: click anywhere in white space; enable a "view details" button; add the option under the More Actions ellipsis
- Keep in mind that we need to be able to right-click to copy/paste from a list, so we can't have any functions that interfere with that
- Make the display configurable, so that we can choose to show only those details that are meaningful to our operation (Cate: will not be an option for version 1)
- Can we have a display for format / material type? Loan policy?
- Do we need to show renewal count? Some want this, some don't. Would be solved by configurability at the library level.
- Use of icons for material type - could be configurable by library. Cate: put it as text for now, worry about icons later
- Loan action page: actions that change statuses or due dates. Full display of action type, date of action and any change of due dates resulting from it.
- Is desk location / user location needed? Yes. What about actions initiated through the discovery layer? Yes, this needs to be indicated. If an action includes a notice generation, this should show. (Notice generation display needs more discussion.)
- Paging requests: these are different from Hold and recall - needs more discussion.
Action items
- Talk about paging on Thursday meeting
