Requests

Requests for items that are out on loan

“On loan” typical request types

Recall

Will adjust due date; apply a new fine structure

Does this happen from the loan record itself

Most recalls initiated from patron via catalog; staff also need ability to intiate requests

“I need this item” request from item record not patron record

Would you want to search items specifically or general repository

Title level requests

Have a patron submit a title level material and the system will determine which item will come back the fastest and request that item and adjust the others.

Voyager recalls one item and puts holds on the others

Title level requesting

Easier to start search for a title and then request item from a number of items available

A lot of requests start from API which is a discovery layer

Don’t want to keep popping around and loose track of where you are

Barcode, title, call number, author, item id

We need to be able to search for item and place requests for them

Know what logic is in request process

Leverage existing search parameters
