• Reported by Harry Kaplanian at the Community Council meeting: FOLIO Reference environment update. Need about 50K to keep up the reference environment and need 1/2 FTE and right now no PO time available- need follow up on this need 

• Evaluation process for new FOLIO modules: asking for comments on this process of reviewing new FOLIO modules

  • Provide a standard for new modules, sustainability and support of modules–need to sign a MOU

  • Provides a matrix requirements for the modules

  • PC help coordinate the ideas, direct some questions about need a new module

• Roadmap and prioritization- Jesse asking for approval and to continue work on roadmap using this process

• Kristin Martin is going over the SIG feedback and will push out the result to all SIG's

Orchid updates to Inventory Single Record Import

Demo part in folio-snapshot:

• Single record import is triggered from the Inventory app, not Data Import. All mappings are defined in Data Import, though, and applied to single record import.

• Targets can be defined in Inventory settings > Integrations > Z39.50 target profiles

• SRI can be triggered from the action menu > Import. This will create a new instance record and underlying MARC record in SRS. Paste or type in the main record identifier for the selected data source. This will invoke an import profile from Data Import and create the records.

• Other place to trigger it is from the instance detail view > Actions > Overlay record. If the ID is identical to the ID used in the existing record, it will be updated. If the ID is different, then the record will be overlayed with the other record.

• SRI jobs are listed in the Data Import "all" job log.

• If multiple targets are defined in settings, the targets can be selected from a target list in Inventory before import. From Nolana onwards the order of the targets will be in alphabetical order

• mod-copycat was created by an Index Data developer team a few years ago

Slide deck:

• Each target can have one profile for creates and one profile for updates. That does not work well for schools with multiple institutions sharing one FOLIO tenant.

• Applying MARC modifications to incoming records is not straightforward until today

• Label "Source": Ann-Marie is going to work on a better text

• Modal heading: 

  • Currently "Single record import"

  • Discussion about if this heading should indicate the action, e.g. "Single record import" and "Single record overlay". Ann-Marie is going to work on a better text

  • Overlay = update and import = create could be confusing to users

• Settings for SRI: Move from Inventory to Data Import? For now, they will stay at the Inventory settings

Result: The SIG approves the work and development is going to start.

When setting up the connection the checkbox "permanent connection" is causing trouble and should be unchecked.

The Windows client is quiet old and based on Internet Explorer. There is already an end-of-life date. The successor is web-based and sometimes considered less sophisticated.
