  • Outcome: The Product Council recommends that the Outreach SIG research and choose a different Q flower name that is shorter and lacking in a apostrophe. Vote yes or no.

Today's meeting was dedicated to SIG convener updates.

Also discussion about ROAD map planning. This conversation to be continued next week.

MM SIG Release Note & Other Highlights

MM Dashboard with Bulk Edit > Do you feel comfortable with staying up-to-date on your own using the Jira Dashboard?

Felix encouraged every one to add their highlights in the document.

UXPROD-185Data Import of Orders are postponed from Nolana to Orchid.

Jacquie had a question re. if the DI Order functionality is similar to the Order Import Tool (FOLIO Order Import Tool: https://github.com/folio-labs/folio-order-import-tool#core-mapping-table)

AM-B: Status of DI Order (UXPROD-185). Nothing being mapped right now.

Dashboard widgets for metadata management

Gather use cases for Dashboard widgets in MM related apps:

  • Inventory
  • Data Import
  • Data Export
  • quickMARC
  • MARC Authority app
  • Bulk edit
  • SRS

Felix will do a demo of the dashboard and some ERM related use cases to kick off the discussion.

Dashboard is an app in the top menuline. Here it's possible to create new widgets.

(insert screen dumps here)

Also possible to manage user access.

Felix demoed three different user types.

Can create private dashboards and shared dashboards.

It's possible to create multiple dashboards.

Gather usecases for MM-widgets - a document similar to this list of dashboard use cases for the ERM: Dashboard Use Cases

Laura could see this as useful for work task related to Authority control management. Christie Thomas said that she could see this useful for gathering task for tech staff, e.g. looking into data import jobs with errors to be investigated, records which needs to be triaged, and problem to be surfaced.

Another use could be: Widgets as a tool for quality check and controlling things are not left unfinished.

Christie also mentioned the ability to surface reports. This might include also the LDP app.

Jacquie Samples: Management reports. Work which need to be done in the metadata area or technical service. Planning tool, and keep track on data that might have gone lost.

Jennifer mentioned that the LDP app would be useful. Charlotte clarified that the LDP app is a FOLIO approved app - TCR-10 and TCR-11.

Data Import/Export jobs and their status or outcome – and log files after they become available

17:34:19 From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone : we can hear you!
17:39:43 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : Yay -- thank you for being part of that group, Jenn
17:41:07 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : it's too bad about queen anne's lace, it's so pretty!
17:43:05 From f-piscitelli to Everyone : Much as I like Queen Anne's lace, but Quince works for me.
17:43:18 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : I just looked up quince flowers, they are pretty too
17:45:57 From Felix Hemme (ZBW) to Everyone : A-M you're up next!
17:51:30 From Jenn Colt to Everyone : afk
17:52:20 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : +1 Laura
17:52:28 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : +1 Laura
17:52:30 From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone : repetition and frequency!
17:52:47 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Multiple modes of learning
17:53:59 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : What is the link to that dashboard?  I am sorry to not be finding it myself …
17:54:25 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : https://folio-org.atlassian.net/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=12232
17:54:31 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Thanks Laura!
17:57:17 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : We still call it the Lehigh tool / app, as well.
17:58:50 From Charlotte Whitt to Everyone : FOLIO Order Import Tool: https://github.com/folio-labs/folio-order-import-tool#core-mapping-table
17:59:03 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Thanks Charlotte
17:59:18 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Thanks Christie!
17:59:53 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : It looks like it is taking MARC values and mapping them to order data. So, it must have some background info in the guts.
18:00:15 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : So, it is SRS that is completely unrelated, not MARC?
18:19:12 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : This list of dashboard use cases might be of interest: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/ERM/Dashboard+Use+Cases
18:20:02 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : It would be great to be able to look at new resources that need metadata work, for example. That might need a connection to Acquisitions type data and Metadata management data?
18:20:45 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : From a management perspective, but also maybe at the cataloger level if they are responsible for a certain aspect of the incoming resource flow.
18:23:58 From Lynne Fors to Everyone : New acquired items lists, aka new book lists, for research librarians maybe organized by subject/LC classification
18:26:00 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : widgets vs ldp reports
18:26:16 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : or can we have widgets pulling from LDP? that would be fantastic
18:26:57 From Jennifer Eustis (she/her) to Everyone : I like the idea of quality control that Christie is explaining. It would be great to find resources that have been order and that have the incorrect format. For example, a physical book was order and the bib record is for the eBook instead.
18:27:33 From Jennifer Eustis (she/her) to Everyone : +1 for pulling from LDP. We also need to find another way to get the data for those who don't have LDP or make LDP a core feature of FOLIO
18:27:44 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : That is a great idea Jennifer. Or records that have incompatible data according to local standards.
18:28:19 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : Or SRS.
18:28:28 From Jennifer Eustis (she/her) to Everyone : Yes SRS!!!
18:29:22 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : We rely heavily on LDP at Cornell
18:29:34 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : Yes, we could not get our work done without LDP.
18:29:54 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : I think that is absolutely Core.  Every single workaround relies on the LDP in some way.
18:29:59 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : 💯 Jennifer
18:30:16 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : But it still requires configuration, right?
18:30:22 From Jenn Colt to Everyone : Those apps have to point at an LDP
18:31:28 From Jenn Colt to Everyone : oh!
18:31:28 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : good to know, Christie
18:33:16 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : regardless of the reporting tool, a widget that displays report results would be useful
18:34:16 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : It would be very weird if I got all the data I need from one table.  :)
18:34:35 From Laura Daniels to Everyone : it sounds like we need better documentation on reporting options in general
18:34:36 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Sorry Jennifer!
18:34:46 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Yes, Laura!
18:34:52 From Charlotte Whitt to Everyone : Would it be relevant to do a hands on workshop on Reporting tool, and what the different libraries use
18:34:59 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : Thank you I was wrong!
18:35:32 From Charlotte Whitt to Everyone : And get an overview of the different available solutions?
18:35:33 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : My apologies for any confusion that I caused.
18:35:56 From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone : So there's 3 LDP things? LDP, LDP Query App, and LDP Lite?
18:36:03 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : I think it would be good especially to focus on LDP Lite.
18:36:11 From Charlotte Whitt to Everyone : + Christie
18:36:31 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Plus the LDP project, Ann-Marie
18:36:57 From f-piscitelli to Everyone : +1 for Reporting tool
18:40:14 From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone : And a key piece of the puzzle - for a widget to be available, the "owning" dev team for the data/function needs to do some work. It might be good to have a column in the spreadsheet for which app's data the widget would rely on
18:40:29 From Ann-Marie Breaux to Everyone : Oh - there is an App column!
18:45:36 From Christie Thomas (she/her) to Everyone : Thanks for a great meeting. I have to leave a little early today.
18:45:44 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Is there a Receiving App? Or, what is it called, because I'd like to add a widget for that, too.  Please.
18:45:57 From Jennifer Eustis (she/her) to Everyone : There is a receiving app
18:49:17 From Jennifer Eustis (she/her) to Everyone : Owen has also created a checklist pane in Open Access App
18:49:52 From Jennifer Eustis (she/her) to Everyone : If you go to https://folio-snapshot.dev.folio.org/oa/publicationRequests?sort=requestNumber, if you open one of the requests you'll see a checklist icon next to the actions button
18:50:08 From Jacquie Samples -- Duke to Everyone : Thanks Jennifer!!
