MARCcat Subgroup (Obsolete)

This subgroup is no longer active; MARCcat development stopped in 2020.

The MARCcat subgroup will work with developers to outline functional requirements for the FOLIO MARCcat application. Overall scope is to implement the Italian company @Cult's WeCat cataloguing module into the FOLIO environment as the MARCcat app. For V1 the highest priority will be on create bibliographic records in MARC21, and holdings in MFHD, and implement search features on all data in the MARC record. This workflow ties into the interaction with the MARC Batch Loader, the generic bib storage, and instance and holdings records in Inventory. The MARCcat is in the domain of the MM SIG, and is especially important to cataloging. The subgroup will act under the auspices of the MM SIG.

MARCcat Subgroup: Scope: the MARCcat-subgroup works together with the Product Owner and developers at @Cult to review, prepare and share progress on development on porting the WeCat module into FOLIO MARCcat app with the MM-SIG and the broader community. The WeCat is the native cataloguing module of the Olisuite ILS (by @Cult), and the group will discuss the porting of each features and their transformation into FOLIO. The subgroup will discuss all new features, APIs and other services necessary to assure data synchronization processes between MARCcat and other FOLIO Apps (such as Inventory, Acquisition, Batch loading, Authority Control etc.)
