Meeting Notes
Steph Buck presented a slide deck with proposed changes to wording used on screens for Requests (View, Reorder, and Queue). These were suggestions stemming from user acceptance testing for title level requests.
Goal is to make it clear when a user can view requests versus when a user can view and reorder a request queue. Making the language consistent on the screens will help.
Changes proposed:
- Inventory instance record, actions menu
Current: “View requests & reorder”
Proposed: “View requests & reorder queue”
- Inventory actions menu, pane header
Current: “Request queue on instance * [Title information /.]”
Proposed: “View requests & reorder queue * [Title information /.]”
Also, add a “Reorder” column label above the drag & drop icon in the table so that it becomes clear that this is where you reorder and that it could be read by a screen reader for accessibility.
- Requests page, actions menu
Current: “Reorder queue”
Proposed: “View requests & reorder”
- Requests action reorder queue, pane header
Current: “Request queue on instance * [Title information /.]”
Proposed: “View requests & reorder queue * [Title information /.]”
Also, add a “Reorder” column label above the drag & drop icon in the table
- Requests details pane
No changes
- View requests in queue from detail pane (after click through from requests detail)
Current: “Requests”
Proposed: “View requests in queue * [Title information]”
Makes it clear that this is viewing the queue only.
Brook is wondering what happens when we clear the search or update the search shown in the last example (View requests in queue from detail pane (after click through from requests detail). Steph will look into this.
Marie was wondering if we could talk about the Requests action reorder queue page and being able to click to the request detail from there? Right now you have to close this page and then you go to the requests app. Could we click on the rows and come to the request detail for each item? Steph asks if use cases could be written up for this so that the RA group could discuss.
User acceptance testing gave more feedback. This is just the first piece she’s talking about today.
Question for Steph – Can you tell us about other things that came up?
Comments about position in queue from requests details pane. Comments about some of the updates that are being made now for title level requests; such as, Request type for title level requests – should only show the request types that are valid given the requester and title information.
Also working on request form to allow request policy to set pickup service points.
