Unassigned Fees and Fines

all

Hi everyone @hier, a homework for you from yesterday's meeting: please enter your institutions priority to the fee/fine features: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/147XgutIUxeAOfiREcX81sNnfepB6sSL4MqSnqkuLKhs/edit?usp=sharing
You will find a more detailed info here: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=12627
We will discuss them and add an overall SIG prio to them as we started to do in our meeting. Thank you!

Meeting Notes

  • We are going through unassigned fee/fine issues to be prepared for the time when Holly left for retirement (the issues on the right side of Holly's dashboard).
  • There is no one right now who will be taking over as PO of fees/fines, but some people have agreed to be the PO for a particular issue. If anyone has an interest in being PO for one of the unassigned issues, you can contact on of the RA POs and work with them.
  • The unassigned issues are not likely to get into Poppy but could be taken on by people if there is a need
  • The goal is to sort the unassigned issues by priority of the RA group

UXPROD-3664: Useful to store loan type and patron group at time fee/fine created, as these may change later (item gets taken off from reserve, etc.)

UXPROD-2006: Ability to look an item up by title when creating a manual fee/fine can be helpful if have a fee/fine related to a damaged item.

UXPROD-1556: Amelia noted that FOLIO saves the text of sent notices, they can be retrieved via API. Andrea - circ. log records that a message has been sent, but not the message. Erin: this is nice-to-have but not high priority.

UXPROD-2495: Closed, no longer needed as UUID is recorded.

UXPROD-2128: Only time this may be useful is for multi-volume sets, otherwise item barcode can be used.

UXPROD-3137: Would be nice to have, but not high priority?

UXPROD-2278: This was considered a high priority among unassigned issues. You do get a warning when an item that has no fee/fine owner is declared lost; issue is more with automated aged-to-lost (there is a message in the log, but this may not be noticed).

UXPROD-3697: Required for German libraries? Jana will ask. Otherwise, low priority.

UXPROD-3896: A nice-to-have feature for libraries that use reminder fees/fines.

UXPROD-1113: This feature has uses beyond fee/fines (supervisor can override patron block, etc.) However, no way to do this in FOLIO currently, and no interest from developers in working on this.

UXPROD-387: Not much recent interest?

UXPROD-392: Could be quite useful (if a patron asks how much fee/fine they have accrued, etc.) Higher priority?

UXPROD-3276: Issue has been raised recently in Slack. Higher priority?
