Meeting Notes
- Loan comments:
- The Team of the UB Mainz and Index Data is going to develop the loan comments
- Kristina Dorrough brought up use case for loan comments when recalling an item: want to have a note to the patron to bring the item to a specific location, etc.
- Use Case: Making the comments editable for loans that are going on for a very long time
Thomas Trutt in Chat: That makes sense.. With Voyager the notes where editable by staff and removable.
- Making it not visible to the patron should be possible
- Minimal solution: get the patron note flipped to a staff note or suppress from Patron view
- setting a timestamp on notes/note type
- Question of whether creating / editing etc. notes should have specific permission(s) needs to be considered
- Usability of using actual cost for lost items:
- Will approach work for your library?
- Which of the two features at left should be worked on first?
- Question in Chat by Laurence Mini: Can the "close the loan after" option in settings be changed to only show up when 'Actual cost' is selected (like what happens in new loan policy depending on whether rolling / fixed is selected as loan profile)?
- probably not a high priority but Holly will writ it up
- David Bottorff: unless it is a required setting? - Yes, but only required if actual cost is selected
- Susan: Is the actual cost record going to be automatically canceled upon return? - Yes if something is renewed or returned the actual cost record will go away
- Rebecca Pernell in Chat: Please explain cancelled again — is it simply not billed? - yes ('Do not bill' was selected as action; differs from Expired where item was not billed in time)
- Holly is working on a video demonstrating how Actual cost will work (waiting for Continue bug in Do not bill to be fixed)
- Please bring your Questions to our next meeting!
