Continue Prioritization Process

All

Can we add a new widget to our Metadata Management Road Map Jira dashboard that contains all MM features that don’t (yet) have a release applied to?

Metadata Management Road Map has new column added: Votes.

  • Jennifer Eustis or Charlotte can modify the dashboard.

Do we need a historical roadmap of what features were added when?

From a Slack thread: Should we only be adding the “metadatamanagement” label to UXPRODs and not, for example, to UIINs?

  • Ideal to have UXPRODs (features) at the minimum

  • Broad features are not very detailed ; add label to stories?

  • Ask POs how we can best inform their planning

MM SIG Parking Lot

  • Need a meeting to review it and decide if we want to make any changes

  • What do we want from this page?

PC updates

2024-11-14 Product Council Agenda & Meeting Notes

  • Follow up on Prioritization process rollout to the SIGs: Liaisons remember to check in with your SIGs. Jesse, Kristin, or Martina could join the SIGs to help with the conversations on prioritization. Laura: Are there are people willing to join meetings to help create JIRAs? We talked about that and we should look at getting a training session. Charlotte: have you checked existing documentation? There is documentation: 2024-11-07 Product Council Agenda and Meeting Notes . Caitlin: We need to raise skills with JIRA. We also need to coordinator with SIG conveners and POs as to what we need in issues and the use of templates. We can create templates. Some of those templates might be old.

  • Presentation by the Linked Open Data SIG:

This SIG isn’t driving the development of the linked open data app in FOLIO; development is being driven by the beta libraries. This app was already being developed before this group got started. Some colleagues are already working with linked data and there is a need to balance those who do the work and those where this is still hypothetical. The goal is to coordinate information sharing and gathering from all those interested in the community about linked data. Charlotte and Lisa are liaisons to the PC.

Data Import Working Group

Jennifer Eustis

2024-11-13 Data Import Subgroup meeting

New documentation for the OCLC Normalization work (forthcoming in Ramsons): https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/x/JwAIJ

Working on documentation and evaluating what documentation exists and what needs to be created.

quickMARC Subgroup update

Raegan Wiechert

Khalilah gave an update on quickMARC work in Ramsons (mostly dealing with validation). It was also decided that the quickMARC Subgroup will become an ad hoc committee, mostly meeting when it is time for a new flower release. The app is still being worked on and developed. If you have questions or notice bugs, continue to use the #quickmarc Slack channel.

Question about derive versus edit MARC bibliographic records in Slack. Mistakes are being made where derive was selected instead of edit. If you have opinions, share in #quickmarc https://folio-project.slack.com/archives/CTCB5HVLZ/p1731535314975199 .

Might be a design issue that is not just limited to quickMARC. Bring to App Interaction?

The default is for the actions to be in alpha order. In inventory duplicate used to be before Edit, but many were having trouble with staff clicking on duplicate rather than Edit and duplicate was moved down.
