Announcements | Until now, we did not have reference systems for Morning Glory and Nolana, apart from the bug fest environments. Good news from Mike Gorrell (Index Data): There is still a question as to how often these reference environments will be refreshed. Other environments have been updated weekly.
PC update | regrets | Announcements: Acq SIG invited Dan and Maccabee from Lehigh to demo their work on Patron driven acquisitions on Tuesday Jan. 24 at 1:00 pm EST Here are the slides Axel announced that Index Data will be working on SIP2 edge module and the coding should be done late summer Roadmap and prioritization working group is getting underway again Today at the PC the main agenda item was the SIG conveners Update and here are some highlights from the update:
Next Topic: Discuss again the Functional Evaluation of new functionality/modules

MM SIG Release Note & Other Highlights Covers Inventory, bulk edit, single record import, quickmarc, data export, and data import. Next bugfest begins on March 6 and ends on March 17. Various UATs are starting - activity log / change tracker for orders and order lines; single record import profiles settings; and data import orders.
Review of the parking lot | MM SIG Parking Lot (restructured) The previous MM SIG Parking Lot (Old) has been renamed and moved under the new parking lot. Restructuring allowed the removal of outdated topics and provides a new start re-evaluating parking topics. Acquisitions sig has a parking lot for questions - since the work is mostly done the focus is on helping people to use the system and refine it. The SIG focuses on this document when there are no other pressing issues. Individuals can add issues with their name and date. Anyone can add to it. Resource Management/Acquisitions implementation topics, questions or issues Felix and Regan will investigate restructuring the MM Sig parking lot to follow this model that has been successful for the Acq Sig. We need to consider how to prioritize the topics to help with planning meetings and working our way through the list. The in which we should discuss is not always the order in which the items are added to the list. In the Acq Sig it was decided that they would just go down the list so that a topic is never continually pushed to the end of the list. There is a concern in the MM Sig that we would miss high priority topics if we use this model. There should also be consideration for topics that overlap on the list. We can begin by going through the topics now. Suggestion that we do not remove them from the list, but maintain a list of discussed topics with links to relevant information. Acq Sig has a home for topics that have moved off of the list so that the information is not lost and members can see what has been discussed and the outcomes of the discussion. MARC search - have another demo of the API in MM SIG or the lab. Add a new topic about MARC search in the UI. The API is ready but there is no ability to search MARC from within the FOLIO UI. We can add links to demos from the SIG meetings that include time stamps to where the demo starts in the meeting. The Reporting SIG has done this. Refreshing data in inventory after the updates of the marc to instance map. There is nothing automatic about updating the instance records after the map is updated. During releases there are changes to the marc to instance map, but the upgrade does not make changes to the default map in the local production environment, nor does it change the instance records. In the release note, they try to be very clear what the changes are to the default map so that implementors can review the changes and make decision about whether to accept them or not. Associated actions that are required are also listed. A couple of releases ago there was a script added that would allow instances to be updated against a map. It takes a long time. In Orchid, a tool will hopefully be released that will allow marc bib records to get updated against an updated authority record. The marc bib group will look to see if this can be adapted easily for updating instances against bibs. It would go faster and be easier to upgrade instances. Possible future action to support a marc to instance map change document to make it easier to manage local marc to instance map changes. This could possibly be added to the official documentation. A group will convene to investigate this. (Link to the current tips page for marc to instance mapping: MARC Mappings Information) Validation of MARC records - Quickmarc does some marc validation. How much validation is expected? Should there be more? Less? Key fields that need to be validated, such as the ldr byte to designate utf-8 vs marc-8 encoding. Not a lot is happening with validation during import. This needs to be a future conversation. Felix and Regan will set as an agenda item for an upcoming meeting. Ann-Marie and Kalilah should be included in the conversation as the POs for data import and quickmarc. Representation and duplication of electronic resources bibliographic data. This is a really old Jira. Need to revisit how bibliographic data is represented in Inventory. A conversation in a new context will help us go forward. Also a question for reserves. Suggestion to revisit the container records. Should loop in Owen Stephens when we have this discussion. Suggestion that all Jiras with small (3-digit numbers) should be reviewed and rewritten since so much time has passed and review why they have been skipped for so long. Metadata for non-textual formats - review of the schema for music cataloging. There is still a need for this and there is a group within FOLIO that is looking at this. This grew out of a conference session at the Music Library Association meeting. Establish communication between the two groups. The group is not exclusively metadata management. Open to all music related users of FOLIO. Should also bring templates for marc records into this discussion.
