@Former user (Deleted)

  • Q4 Release Date delay. No specific date mentioned. (Holly Mistlebauer wrote on Slack 12/20/2019: We are targeting January 10 for the release of Edelweiss)

  • Post Q4 MARCCat plans. MARCCat will not be in Q4 release. Will be integrated in Q1 release. Institutions should be able to obtain MARCCat by the end of January.

  • AWS - Hoping to receive a hosting grant based on Open Source status.

Subgroup Updates and Other Updates

Search in Inventory, continued

@Charlotte Whitt

Q4 2019 work (UXPROD-140) continues in Q1 2020 (UXPROD-2180)

Search - using PostgreSQL (all releases up to Juniper)

Demo in bugfest.folio.ebsco.com

  • Instance: 240,655

  • Holdings: 234,495

  • Item: 274,999

Good CQL resource? : Charlotte uses the Library of Congress - https://www.loc.gov/standards/sru/cql/

The ability to implement a filter by "not suppressed" is coming.

Charlotte demonstrated "Query searches"

Item Query search examples:

  • item.notes = "test"

or a phrase:

  • item.notes = "checkin note test"

truncation

  • item.notes = "checkin*"

Should be able to perform null searches. Feel free to add to the sheet.

Felix, via chat, "Let's add a table for searches that do not work as expected. You can't search on only one index with "not" \o/"

Lloyd (Marmot) - via chat - What about browse searching?

Unfinished business?

Alternate Graphical Representations - Close to completion. Will work to finish in January

Feature ranking/new features?

Future meeting topics

Refine the result list - work planned for development Q3 2020

UXPROD-1634: Inventory. Result list Refined display rules. Display Resource title in MCL and Sort on Index titleClosed and slide deck about hierarchical display of result list

External integrations (e.g., Caiasoft for off-site storage management) and updates to FOLIO. Where/what is the "source of truth"? --possibly to be addressed at WOLFCon

@Filip Jakobsen suggests to use Message banner (a new component) to display if an instance record is marked as: Suppressed from discovery, Staff suppress, or Previous held, or holdings/item is marked Suppressed for discovery. This use is intended as a MVP solution: https://ux.folio.org/docs/guidelines/components/message-banner/ Post-MVP we aim for ux consitency with MARCcat.

STCOM-592: Create Message Banner componentClosed

Source of truth (SRS). Review the FOLIO metadata flow based on test of the newly implementation of edit freeze of records in Inventory when having only SRS and Inventory installed.

Inventory, MARCcat, Data Import Permissions interaction review

Search enhancements - possible also look at more general requirements for defining search, e.g. when to use: Phrase search, Truncating (left and/or right), Stemming, Nested search, Boolean search, etc. (TC and MM task)

Authority Data and Inventory Vision (small group work first)

Discovery – need to clarify sources of data for discovery vs. data needed for operations; this needs to be documented for the entire FOLIO community and direction should come from Product Council

Item statuses and the apps that affect them

Music / Maps / Media cataloging review of data elements in Inventory

UIIN-864: Music / Maps / Media / Video cataloging. Review of data elements in InventoryDraft

Texas A&M may have a music cataloger that can help.

Christie offered to load cartographic and music data from other libraries into their test FOLIO instance.

Jennifer (via chat): We should also look at video as well. Videos have other standard numbers EAN for instance and fields that people like to search and discovery them by
