Reporting Data ElementsAll

Reporting data elements gap analysis due by June 11

-Cornell data elements work example review

-data elements to be included in FOLIO V1

-steps to complete this work

-connections with Inventory app, MM SIG, and Data Migration Subgroup

  • data elements in our current systems to be mapped into FOLIO
    • Christie Thomas (Chicago; MM SIG) and Anne Highsmith (TAMU; migration) have been working on this already
    • we'll join their efforts
    • review your local reports to identify what data elements you currently use that you would like to see used in FOLIO
    • critically important for first implementers but also significant for those implementing later to ensure that the needs are being addressed as early as possible; please meet with your institution's colleagues to cover all functional areas
    • look at meeting notes from April 30
    • make a list of needs for reporting data elements and bring to our next meetings
    • we still have much work to do re: increasing awareness about data store, contact Product Council for support from mgt/project

During the meeting Sharon Beltaine displayed the spreadsheet she had been working on to document Cornell's data element needs for use as a suggested model for other institutions (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QhgvpyaJFJ4ZjRNHd8zAq14ZJkGsp3VoCaR7b9sYOis/edit?usp=sharing). There was a long discussion of how this kind of documentation effort could be coordinated with Data Migration Subgroup efforts. Sharon emphasized that other institutions need to engage in similar efforts and complete their work quickly, as there is a 6/11/2018 deadline for data elements to be included in the Inventory application.

Data Lake Test EnvironmentAll

Data Lake Test Environment Proposal Brainstorm

-Sharon to present a Data Lake Test Environment Proposal to Product Council on Thursday, May 31

-Data Lake Test tenant to be added to Folio tenant infrastructure e.g., Prod, Dev, Test, Data Lake (Test)...

-what are the important components of this proposal?

Sharon had wanted to be ready to present the proposal to Product Council on 5/31; due to the Memorial Day holiday on 5/28 and cancellation of normal reporting SIG meeting, she will email the draft to SIG members for review. Joanne Leary asked what a test environment would look like; Sharon answered that it would be a separate reporting test tenant that could have the Harvard bib data which already exists in other FOLIO test instances or it could have bib data from one of the other members. Tod Olson said that Chicago had been working on getting bib/holdings/item data ready to load but was not so far along as desired, partly due to need to anonymize purchase information and verify that the test data didn't include specially licensed records that couldn't be shared.
