WolfCon Update: At this point, the Monday 5/7/18 9am Reporting SIG meeting will still take place because WolfCon sessions for SMEs don't start until the afternoon of that day.

Reporting SIG members should be able to attend the WolfCon conference remotely via Zoom links for sessions. Stay tuned for more information on this soon.

Loans Reporting

Emma Boettcher, Loans PO

(see NOTES below)

Review reports related to loans to understand RA data elements needed, identify gaps, discuss in-app reporting, etc. What reports are or should be covered by RA in-app reporting? What reporting data elements are needed for RA reports via the Data Lake? Please attend if you have Circ Loan Reports in the requirements list.

Please note: if you are not the contact for your Circulation/Resource Access/Loan reports, please bring the Loan Reports contact from your institution to this meeting

Topics for Future MeetingsAll

Review and update Topics for Future Reporting SIG Meetings

Notes:

Emma Boettcher (Reporting SIG product owner for loans) reviewed the reports spreadsheet in order to understand all the elements of the reports listed, to make sure they are represented in the Folio interface.

  • For reporting on circulation transactions by collection type: include the loan type and material type, date, owning library, patron group
  • Other reporting elements must include library departments and service areas within departments
  • In-library visits: this is collected by external systems or methods, but in a best-case scenario, would be counted by Folio
  • Desk activity report: count transactions by type (charge, discharge, renewal, hold)
  • Discovery layer transactions (patron-initiated renewals, requests) also need to be captured. Would be great to capture metadata about where the web traffic came from.
  • SIP2 transactions (self-check, MeeScan or other unmediated transactions) – include library location, operator ID, date/time, patron group, item information
  • Use of items in reference collection – this would be like browse transactions, which must include date/time, browse location, owning library location, and must be able to link back to all bibliographic data about the book
  • Bookings (reservations) and hold requests – count reservations (or requests made) by date, patron demographics, library, service type
  • Serials usage: include all title/holdings information, series information, circulation history associated with dates (not just counts)

Next week, we will speak with Christi Thomas about Inventory data elements and reporting.
