| Review the Charge: FOLIO Prioritization and Roadmap Working Group |
| - "Manage" is broad - maybe "implement"
- Decide on the tool
- three parts:
- Need to understand how ARLEF could influence priorities
- Before we can really recommend changes and updates to the process, need to implement
- Define these terms:
- Definition of the roadmap
- What do we mean by community resources vs. external tools
- Figure out how teams combine different types of ranking to determine priorities and set Roadmap
- Use definitions from Tri-Council subgroup
- Themes and subthemes: would like the SIG prioritization process to help define these and name these in ways that make sense.
- Questions on roadmap:
- What is the function of the time access? Hoping the timeframe can be influenced by the prioritization process
- Want the roadmap to both project and reflect progress
- We need to return to the prioritization process so that individuals can understand how their priorities are fitting into a development plan
- Would like to have Roadmap influence what features are selected for development for a particular release
- Can we have features/desired functionality shared in the roadmap but not be time-bound? It's not reasonable to say a particular feature will be built in 2024.
- Maybe we need to focus on Visualizations for Priorities more than the roadmap. We have control over priorities, but not over what gets developed
- What levels do we prioritize? Big buckets, little buckets? Both?
- Need to think about distinct audiences for the roadmap - public/marketing, setting development for a dev team, etc.
