Housekeeping

SIG membership is up and running (thanks Peter)

  • users not logged in can't see the list; Peter will take a look

  • Fixed. It was a global permissions problem on user profiles.

30min

Consortial needs matrix review/discussion

General questions/comments

  • mechanics in a shared system

    • reporting based on unique ids (as opposed to codes); what happens when ids aren't unique across member libraries?

      • suffixes or library number are used in many systems to distinguish data

      • FOLIO planning to use unique university identifiers

        • universally unique across all FOLIO instances

  • nice-to-haves -

    • multi-tenancy from the beginning (this is planned for FOLIO)

  • does Resource Sharing need #3 apply to UBorrow, etc.?

    • row 4 modified to reflect this

Review of new needs (rows 21 to 24)

  • Data import/export need

    • are there any permission implications for this? Yes, can be done either consortially or by member library

    • what does "group of libraries" refer to? Consortium

  • Vendor data

    • should be normalized across member libraries in a FOLIO tenant

  • Authentication with multiple campus systems

    • most common case is one campus system per member library, but there are some outliers (one single library that supports two campuses)

Prep for monthly meeting w/PC

Clarification/guidance: how do our work results make their way back to the SIGs?

Wrap-up / planning

Next week:

  • continue review of needs matrix

    • preparation: add additional needs, indicate desirability and/or amendments for your consortia, review categories for overlap, etc.

  • discussion of possibilities for sharing the results of our work

Action items

@David Dahl will add newly suggested categories to Categories tab
@Peter Murray will take a look at SIG membership list to fix display for users who are not logged in
