10 min | Eureka migration updates | Early adopters, TC liaison, etc. | @Kirstin Kemner-Heek the Early Adopters team (GBV, Index Data and TAMU) is meeting once a week with the EBSCO team and is slightly optimistic. Keycloack is up and running. @Thomas Trutt told that Cornell’s work together with EBSCO is also progressing. Currently working on the new break down of user roles. @Hkaplanian highlighted that EBSCO is focusing on testing. There has been some improvements also on documentation. @Kristin Martin asked if LOC was on Eureka? Brooks answered that LOC is with their partly implementation (Acquisition) on Eureka. |
40 min | Presentation on ILL Module | @Richard Mann (Product owner, K-Int) |
@Richard Mann joined K-Int last year. The mod-ill app is not yet presented for TC (current deadline is 1/24/2025). The work on the app has uptil now been very internal. Richard asked if there is an existing SIG to work with, or maybe to set up a new SIG working on requirements for ILL. The apps current functionality is developed around ISO-18626. Configured to work with Aleph, Alma, FOLIO, Horizon, Millennium, NCSU, Sierra, Symphony, TLC, Voyager, WMS. Current work to be using the latest version of Stripes and Grayel The solution is now in a sandbox environment. The app is currently following two modules: mod-ill and mod-directory. Delivery plan: ILL app will be compatible with FOLIO environment ready for the Sunflower release, and with the plans begin discussion for being included with the Trillium release. The work is documented on https://gitlab.com/knowledge-integration/libraries/networks @Alexis Manheim asked about the origin of this work. This work is for Galileo’s DCB system. @Lucy Harrison explained that Galileo will go live Summer 2025. Open RS and DCB is a structural service, a centralized hub. Kristin Martin asked if the requirements are not in FOLIO Jira yet, but will be soon. The requirements are written up in document. @Thomas Trutt suggested that the RA SIG could be a good starting point. The Implementers would be another option. Tod recommended Richard to reach out to the TC - better sooner than later. @Brooks Travis asked how will the ILL app interact with other FOLIO apps; both workflow wise and also dependencies with existing apps; e.g. the users app. @Martin Scholz asked about the purpose of interaction with mod-directory. Richard explained that this is relevant in a consortia perspective, when administering which libraries can borrow from which libraries. In chat @Owen Stephens suggested that the ILL app can be used with the Open Access module, which also deals with the structure of university/library organisations. @Kristin Martin pointed out that the approach around the development of the Serials app, could be a model to follow, with a working group of dedicated libraries, helping the product owner to hash out the requirements. Next steps: Richard to reach out and talk with the RA-SIG, and maybe form a small working group. Alexis thanked for the presentation, and appreciated Richard for approaching the PC and come and do an early presentation of this new app.
