Discussion patron-facing user interface is no longer an important part of the "union catalog" concept; we may want to rethink the naming of this so as not to give the impression that we are creating a UI interest in the states as well to have both push and pull from a union catalog (without human intervention); in Germany, currently there is the ability to pull from the union catalog but not to push back up there is probably some design overlap between this feature and the idea of exposing records/inventories for sharing between libraries (i.e. peer-to-peer) this also might overlap with a conversation that Sebastian Hammer would like to have with Consortia SIG about a hierarchical/clustering model for bib records
