Show or Hide order fields using order template settings
Problem(s):
- De-clutter order edit form based on relevant ordering workflows
Use Cases & Requirements:
Requirement | Status | Use cases |
---|---|---|
User can indicate that certain fields should be hidden from create, edit and view forms when order template is being used. | VALIDATED | When users are creating orders they are confronted with fields that our library does not use. This is slowing down order creation and resulting in input errors that at times cannot be corrected. |
Order forms must have a show/hide toggle to reveal hidden fields if needed. | VALIDATED | If order fields are hidden and administrators need to troubleshoot order issues it may not be possible to solve them. |
Proposed workflow:
User can choose when creating or editing a template which specific fields should be hidden form users.
Either hide all possible with a toggle OR indicate for each field by toggling the show/hide icon "Eye".
When template is applied the desired fields are hidden
On each order form, when fields are hidden by template. The user has a toggle they can click to reveal all hidden fields
Questions:
Question | Status | Conclusion | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
If fields are hidden from the create and edit form should they also be hidden in the view? Or do we want to know the view? | CLOSED | If hidden they should also be hidden from view | Users have said that they do not anticipate the need to hide fields that may have data in them. Users will always appreciate seeing the data in these fields. |
