18:02:49 Von Laura Daniels an Alle:
Kimie, in the quickMARC meeting earlier today you were called brilliant!
18:03:11 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
Ah, thank you 😍
18:06:11 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
vertically vs horizontal
18:17:23 Von Kristin Martin an Alle:
Isn't there already side-to-side scrolling now?
18:18:30 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
Yes, the item list in the top of the instance in the third pane
18:18:33 Von Zak Burke an Alle:
Yes, there is, but we didn't always have scrollbars in place, so it hasn't always been available to folks without trackpads. We are working on making sure scrollbars are _always_ present when scrolling happens.
18:23:19 Von Owen Stephens an Alle:
Some of these MCLs are basiscally data tables
18:23:41 Von Owen Stephens an Alle:
I don't know if that’s the original intention of the development of the MCL
18:23:48 Von Laura Daniels an Alle:
I sometimes select multiple objects and then drag them...
18:24:07 Von Laura Daniels an Alle:
yes, drag and drop is great but we need a non-mouse way to do this
18:25:21 Von Gill Osguthorpe an Alle:
We have a drag and drop in the Dashboard too. Maybe a third approach?
18:27:16 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
Contributors are sortable in the Inventory Result lits
18:30:56 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
I hear you too, Sara
18:31:22 Von Dung-Lan Chen an Alle:
Yes to what Sara described!
18:31:27 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
In MARC authority, we had to put Sort by in the Actions button because the primary sort is by Relevance.
18:32:09 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
Especially try Bugfest Lotus - Holdings HRID ho126544
18:33:40 Von Sara Colglazier (MHC/5C) an Alle:
Just wondering--if not a MCL thing then for the future--just wondering: like in a spreadsheet can I sort on Column A and then on Column B in conjunction
18:34:11 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
In Inventory, there is MCL in the records, where the headings are not set to be sortable
18:39:19 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
If we add line numbers, and then the user drags and drops a row, will the numbers be able to update at the moment of the drag and drop?
18:40:25 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
Having line numbers makes a lot of sense to me. But because it is soo basic, it makes me wonder if there is a reason we did not do it from the beginning. I cannot remember.
18:41:19 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
ok, thanks
18:42:42 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
UXPROD-1625, and another one is UXPROD-3178
18:43:41 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
Yes!
18:44:32 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
I agree with Zak, to click something like a title, not the line number
18:45:57 Von Kimie Matsudo Kester an Alle:
Some apps use the new MCL but not every app has updated
18:57:48 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
In Inventory, we also didn’t expect 15000+ items. So I hear you Owen
18:57:52 Von Laura Daniels an Alle:
This points to something I like about FOLIO -- when we get it wrong, we admit it and work toward making it better!
18:58:10 Von Charlotte Whitt an Alle:
+ 1 Laura
18:58:11 Von Laura Daniels an Alle:
(this is not necessarily the case with other products I use)
18:59:09 Von Owen Stephens an Alle:
I remember being told that people wanted to sort sets of 10,000 + records in an OPAC. I still don't get it really but I have to accept that sometimes people legitimately want things that I don't fully understand 🙂
19:00:06 Von Martina Schildt an Alle:
I would like to continue this discussion on July 27th - does that fit for all?
19:00:07 Von Owen Stephens an Alle:
I think something that would be really interesting to dig into is the two MCL scenarios - all data in front end vs paginating from backend
19:00:45 Von Owen Stephens an Alle:
I suspect we might do ourselves a favour by making it clearer to the user that these things are not the same
19:01:36 Von Owen Stephens an Alle:
Thanks so much everyone
