    1. Permissions
      1. field based → walk through where needed?
      2. SIG reps and PO
        1. example: specific perms to edit the barcode field
        2. view and edit vs. only view e.g. source record (quickmarc) - there seems to be a JIRA
        3. would be UI-based permissions
        4. Brooks: better-focused on managed customized UIs?
        5. Owen: would be good to undertsand the use cases
        6. ERM use case: it would be nice if our selectors could edit "renewal priority" in Agreements, but nothing else, since they are the ones who decide whether they want to renew an item, but otherwise they should not be allowed to edit
          1. idea to have a specific action
    2. searching in FOLIO
      1. ERM SIG started to collect areas of improvement - of Interest for all apps? - consistency when filtering ...
      2. save searches/filters and apply them in one click
      3. look-up for users: add filter for tags
      4. in Organizations: keep search/filter after editing a record
        1. users applies filters and has 5 results that all need to be edited
        2. when one record is edited, the search/filter is deleted and the user needs t start searching/filtering again
    3. ACQ units in ERM

Discussion items

  • Planning for Wolfcon sessions

Minutes

Workflow sessions

  • Libraries walk through workflows from beginning to end, e.g. Purchase a resource for a patron (incl. Orders, Receiving, Requests, Invoices, Check-in, Check-out, Inventory)

    Incl. gap analysis

  • gaps = functionality that is missing vs. functionality that is not working well
  • SUBMITTED
    • (question) how many sessions (50 min. each) - multiple
    • list of workflows
      • orders, receiving, cataloguing (different from library to library whether cataloguing is part of that)
      • request, pre-acquisition in Inventory (searching), ordering
      • acquisition of e-package (journals, ebooks), check in Inventory for print version, then ordering in orders (maybe as a package), renewing that, invoices, inventory (to create item)
      • would be good to have tangible action items as an outcome
      • Laura: I like the idea of starting with a request then proceeding through ordering, receiving, paying, cataloging, and circulating would be great -- that might take more than 50 minutes?
    • (question) rather face2face or hybrid - hybrid option would be good
      • pre-recorded presentations may be helpful - have then a hybrid discussion
      • if we need more time, we could wathch pre-recorded presentation in advance
      • Laura in chat: would it be acceptable to make it hybrid but not account for the time difference (so that participants in the US would just have to get up early or stay up late)?
      • jana in chat: With something like this we had a lot of trouble at work in Germany. Maybe we can schedule these hybrid sessions accordingly?
      • knowledge sharing will work well when hybrid
      • intended audience:
  • Libraries walk through workflows from beginning to end, e.g. Purchase a resource for a patron (incl. Orders, Receiving, Requests, Invoices, Check-in, Check-out, Inventory) with focus on pain points related to record interactions

    • when migrating
    • moving items, holdings
    • right use cases and right library person needs to be there
    • SUBMITTED
    • (question) how many sessions (50 min. each)
    • (question) rather face2face or hybrid → face2face
  • Managing upgrades so that implemented libraries to take advantage of new functionality
    • Example: new connection between order lines and holdings records with Kiwi, but existing orders migrating over will not have this information populated. There should be a way to support existing data in FOLIO to take advantage of the new feature.
  • talking through use cases - see above
  • Inventory is a central app; how can we make interactions easier
  • define business processes involved
  • thinking about process rather than data points
  • SWOT related to design decisions: showing advantages of FOLIOs approach vs. disadvantages (we do not want to build a monolithic system)
    • devs needed
  • not sure about the outcome; hard to have a useful discussion; different expectations
  • on the other hand good opportunity, because it is easier to discuss in person
  • Martina will ask for a separate open slot

00:05:23	Owen Stephens:	Working at home means I always get good coffee!
00:05:44	Owen Stephens:	Good coffee is my vote for WolfCon!
00:05:46	Maura Byrne:	+1 Owen!
00:05:57	Jana Freytag | VZG:	+1!
00:05:59	Martina Schildt | VZG:	+1 good coffee and good chocolate
00:06:03	Laura Daniels:	Good coffee and chocolate!
00:06:09	Owen Stephens:	:)
00:07:15	Owen Stephens:	Too many folio zoom calls happen at my lunchtime!
00:08:52	Owen Stephens:	I think the suggestion was for presenters to get reduced fee
00:09:37	Martina Schildt | VZG:	Sorry for my misunderstanding
00:10:11	Owen Stephens:	That was free to everyone I think?
00:10:37	Laura Daniels:	but the virtual coffee wasn't great
00:10:53	Charlotte Whitt:	:-)
00:15:55	Laura Daniels:	+1 Owen
00:17:38	Owen Stephens:	I agree that’s a good example
00:17:43	Dung-Lan Chen:	+1 Martina
00:18:02	Charlotte Whitt:	Owen could you elaborate a little, where you see Inventory not working well with Acquisition? Just curious
00:18:33	Charlotte Whitt:	:-)
00:19:01	Charlotte Whitt:	Oh, that’s Acquisition problems
00:21:47	Laura Daniels:	I like the idea of starting with a request then proceeding through ordering, receiving, paying, cataloging, and circulating would be great -- that might take more than 50 minutes?
00:22:22	Dennis Bridges:	I think that is a very fair statement.
00:22:28	Kristin Martin:	+1 Laura - also consider for an ebook?
00:22:40	Dennis Bridges:	It would be really tough to go through a big workflow like this in one session
00:23:29	Dung-Lan Chen:	+ 1 Dennis
00:26:06	Kristin Martin:	A recorded demo would be great, but it would be good if the timing works out for the presenter to be part of the discussion.
00:26:28	Laura Daniels:	would it be acceptable to make it hybrid but not account for the time difference (so that participants in the US would just have to get up early or stay up late)?
00:27:16	Laura Daniels:	I attended a virtual conference in the UK last year and I just had to get up early!
00:28:25	Jana Freytag | VZG:	With something like this we had a lot of trouble at work in Germany. Maybe we can schedule these hybrid sessions accordingly?
00:36:11	Maura Byrne:	+1 Dung-Lan
00:36:38	Owen Stephens:	Having an intended audience seems like a good idea but more for the organisers to decide?
00:39:09	Dung-Lan Chen:	Maybe it was just me who is not clear about the audience part :)
00:40:50	Laura Daniels:	I'm in favor of both. App Interaction is where a lot of the important issues and conversations are coming up right now (for me at least).
00:41:21	Laura Daniels:	maybe only knowledge sharing as hybrid?
00:41:27	Maura Byrne:	+1 Laura
00:41:43	Owen Stephens:	I’d agree Laura
00:42:09	Laura Daniels:	I think it was your idea to begin with, Owen 😁
00:42:15	Owen Stephens:	I think that sounds great Martina
00:42:26	Owen Stephens:	It’s a team effort !
00:42:31	Dung-Lan Chen:	Yes!
