that is how it happens for us as well. I am pretty sure that we match on the 010, but it is he same info that is in the 001 of the authority record. We also get a delete report and it is work that needs to be done manually if at all.

The spaces in the control numberscome from the number of digits found in the control number over time. LCGFT (gf) was the last thesaurus to be established, so LC wisely decided to start with control numbers of the same number of digits. The other thesauri started with fewer number of digits and had to add spaces over time to make them even

Backstage puts the LCCN (010) control number in the 001 field for us because that's what we use in Sierra. They normally wouldn't do that
