Development update:
- Kiwi release timeline: this week we started sprint 123
- Kiwi Folijet planning: dashboard where you can see the current scope and status of Data Import work for Kiwi
- Current Data Import feature development dashboard and bugfix support
- Juniper hotfix
Import log hotlinks for Inventory records created or updated; working on adding the same hotlinks for EDIFACT invoices now
- Per Christie, when importing, the SRS MARC Bib column is still confusing; says created, when it updates
- Doesn't show the transformations (e.g. adding a MARC 9xx field via modifications) - have to go to Instance and then View source to see those
- If doing an item update, and not touching the SRS MARC, still saying created (doublecheck what happens when the item update data comes in on a brief MARC Bib)
- For the SRS MARC Bib column - see the record at the end of the process, after any transformations - check with Devs on whether we can adjust
- Create plus any modifications
- Update plus any modifications
- For the action in SRS MARC Bib - see nothing in this column if just updating the item or holdings record, instead of seeing Created - check with devs
Agenda topics:
- MARC Authority 001 manipulation
- Discussed at last meeting
- Khalilah and A-M reviewed after the meeting
- Since no compelling reason identified to change the incoming 001, we will leave it as-is for now. If a reason is identified in the future, we'll re-evaluate.
- MARC Authority would have 999 ff $s with FOLIO UUID
- Handling Inventory optimistic locking:
- Testing Data Import in a separate environment with the Inventory OL changes in place, to make sure that the changes do not break Data Import
- Will also evaluate DI performance before and after Inventory OL changes are merged
- In Kiwi
- Scenario 1: When a user is the second editor on a record, they will see a warning message. It may be a backend message, or there may be time to make it more user-friendly.
- Scenario 2: When the Import process is the second editor on a record, Data Import will receive a message from Inventory. This scenario should be very rare
- Still trying to figure out how to trigger Scenario 2
- Per Christie, it's not uncommon in OLE, but it's usually 1 user editing the same record in 2 windows, or 2 users, and rarely Data Import crashing into a user's edits (DI gets priority in OLE)
- Jennifer: a lot of titles overlap, so it's a possibility, but mostly 2 users, not so much system
- Tim: happens mostly with 2 users
- Next big area that we need to begin working on defining: Creating Orders, Invoices from incoming MARC data. Creating/Updating Instances, Holdings, Items, SRS MARC Bibs based on POL and Vendor Ref Number matches
- Talked with Thunderjet (Acq devs) this week
- Will talk with Prokopovych (Inventory devs) next week
- Will start a feature page to outline all of the details, and we'll work from that next week
