Request Queue

Review & discuss mockup of Request queue

  • Mock-up of request queue pop-up from request detail page

    • v.1: first in, first out

    • intend reordering and bulk actions, including cancellation of multiple requests at once

    • Tania hopes this will not be only place for hold request bulk action (David wants ability to delete all holds for a give patron)

    • Each line is clickable

    • Currently, item-level holds; title-level holds in future b/c it is more complex

    • Desired additional features or changes: 

      • Loan availability status at top

      • Home/owning location of item

      • Where/how to indicate other factors affecting availability

        • Preservation, billed for replacement, on order, etc

        • Due date if on loan

    • User story for request queue hopefully to developers by Fri after edits by Tania & Kimie

  • Kimie did cancellation mock-ups—question of “button proliferation”

    • Cancel request--Details dropdown

    • Confirm cancellation pop-up w/ reasons dropdown—intended to be modifiable by local systems admins

    • Issue of cancel vs confirm wording on buttons

      • Avoid delete b/c not deleting data when deleting request

      • Close? Back?  Will talk again on Fri, may need to test on users

Unavailable item brainstorming

Review and discuss/add to the Unavailable Items and Requests Brainstorming doc

  • Beyond on loan

  • Many reasons may be a status/process which will mean item is unavailable for loan, but not checked out

  • But, don’t want to miss anything which may not fall into that group

  • Libraries get option to categorically allow or disallow requests for unavailable items not on loan

  • Tania is sending a link for requests policies notes
