20 minhttps://www.folio.org review of organizations, mentions, logos and the process for managing the pages

Backstory: the info@folio.org list was emailed by an organization looking for clarity around which vendors could provide hosting and implementation services so that they could all be included in an RFP. This triggered questions about what's on folio.org and how organizations arrive on that page.

  • There doesn't seem to be a transparent process for managing the vendor mentions on this page: https://www.folio.org/community/support/ - and some of the organizations listed don't seem to be involved in the way that the page implies
  • There is a list of "early implementers" that is out of date
  • There seems to be self-registration page for vendors "pledging" support: https://www.folio.org/community/be-mentioned/
    • There is a form on this page, not sure where it goes - Rachel says the form has never been used
  • What are the groups thoughts around this page? How should it tie to our members list on Wiki? FOLIO Member Organizations
  • Simeon - would like to see FOLIO Members highlighted
  • We do want to have a page/list for vendors
    • Question about OLE - doesn't exist anymore, consensus that the logo and tags should be removed
    • CALIS (China) - Keven not sure they're developing FOLIO any longer
    • Should we break out the vendors by country?
  • How did these organizations get on there?
    • Some of them are EBSCO partners that are providing support for FOLIO worldwide
  • We need a process, there is none now and Rachel feels she needs to add anyone that asks to be added

ACTIONS:

Rachel will get a list of the organizations and what role they play and a contact person, need to put a label instead of just logos (some of them aren't obvious)

Rachel will remove the form and add a link to "info@folio.org" for organizations who want to be added

40 min Goals and Objectives for FY22  Team

Review this list and identify our top goals for FY22. Feels like we need to do 2 things with this list:

1) Prioritize each item

2) Determine what the next steps are for each. Toward that end, I suggest we categorize entries into one of the following:

  • Action Item. These are things that we can just "do". We should prioritize and assign these as Action items.
  • Aspiration. These are things that, if we do enough of the "right" things we can achieve this state. We need to develop the list of action items that will lead down the path to achieving this aspiration
  • New Process. These are like action items, except there may be several actions and that lead to creation or enhancement of processes in order to improve the FOLIO community or ecosystem. We'd need to think more deeply about what the process(es) need to be.

Once we've done both of these things we should have a stack ranked set of goals and action items.

We also need to check with PC and TC to see if they are in agreement with the designation of responsibilities

Discussion: what do we do next with this list?

ACTION: Mike will put the 2021 & 2022 initiatives in a survey/spreadsheet and each CC member should rank items, then we'll look at the aggregate scores.

Will also look to see if some items have already been assigned to one of our subgroups

Will need a process or timeline for reviewing them regularly

UpdatesTeam

Please add any updates to your items:

Grants group

New Members Group

Treasurer - contacted the members who have not yet paid, getting responses and more funds are coming in.  Still working with OLF Treasurer to unmingle the funds.

FOLIO WOLFCon Planning

Held initial meeting, collecting ideas, scheduling regular meetings.

The conference hotel wants a refundable deposit, we have not yet found a way to get that deposit together

Planning committee: Slack channel - folio-wolfcon-planning

Communication Channels

Trying to get to the list of individuals who've registered for the FOLIO newsletter, will be scheduling subgroup meeting soon.

Meeting times and other collaboration protocols

Looking to setup a discussion on Discus.  Peter has linked up the channels (see messages in slack)

Onboarding

Brainstormed that a "Welcoming Group" might be helpful as an Onboarding process. Also important to consider different types if institutions/individuals that are being onboarded. Asking for volunteers

Rachel - could the Community Outreach SIG help?  Yes!
