Dennis Bridges gave a presentation on the orders module:

Mock-ups that represent the upcoming release:

Basic Features:
-search & filter purchase orders and purchase order lines; plan to have a hierarchy that appears in the search; colors will indicate pending, open, closed;
-select PO to see details, distribution of funds, PO Lines, summary of PO lines. It will be possible to implement multi-line or single line POs
-order type: one time or ongoing; order format: physical, electronic or both.
-input fields will be driven by these choices, color coded (orange, blue, green)
-payment status, receiving status
-source (how the order was created)
-owner vs assignee; in later release acq unit - part of 'teams'...a concept not implemented yet
-PO numbers and PO line numbers will be system generated, libraries can set structure and will be able to override

Mock-ups that represent the Q1/Q2 2019 release (includes order containers/new objects for ERM module)

-addition of create inventory - specify containers, instance or none

Viewed a workflow diagram

select type, container/instance/none, PO Line Format, populate remaining fields, send order, complete order

Q: How do orders interact with financials?

Interaction occurs via APIs
create order, creates a fund distribution, can pay with numerous funds, creating a fund distribution creates an encumbrance
we reviewed this diagram.

Q: How will the in-app open orders report work?

You can search and filter POs in the application. Will display totals for convenience/quick glance. Print? (not yet well defined) Export? Not sure if that will be all PO fields or just the fields on the pane in the application?

Brief discussion about migrating orders.

Often ongoing orders are migrated and not completed orders. Local decision
Many will probably want to keep the same PO numbers when migrating to Folio

The most "in-flux" fields right now are those that relate to the ERM.

If possible group members will start reviewing order schema over the next week. We'll see where we are (not everyone can review over the next week). If there is anything to discuss for the next meeting we will. Otherwise we'll discuss the following week.
