Meeting Notes
Cheryl reports on gap analysis for UChicago / OLE. Anne will do a preliminary wrap-up on Loans (for Voyager). (Discussion about how to proceed / workflow) : What is the time frame for next steps ? – Will be addressed in the FOLIO Forum this Wednesday. Sharon: Need to align "Data Elements Works" with "Reporting Works". Harry will talk to Cate about this. Dale: In general, the agreed procedure is to handle the work back to the relevant functional SIGs. In particular, to the PO of the relevant functional SIG. Harry: Eventually, it (the work / workload / charge / responsibility) will go back to the "Data Loader" Issue (viz. JIRA Epic UXPROD-850 "Migration Tools") and thus back to the responsibility of the SysOps SIG or the Data Migration Subgroup. What is the status of the Inventory Data Elements, which have been passed to the User Management SIG ? – Anne will talk to Chris Manly, the Convener of User Management, about this. Harry: Is it OK to the group, to transfer the responsibility of changing / removing some data elements of the models to the relevant functional SIGs ? — Yes, by lazy consensus ?? (next steps) There is a skeleton for (the gap analysis of) Requests . "Vendors" is ready to be reviewed. "Vendors" ist not a small task (Anne). Tod: Is it feasible / plausible to do the same work (work through all data elements in details) for Request, than Vendors and so forth in this subgroup, as we did for Inventory ? It was the declared goal of this subgroup to work towards a Data Loader. We need a Data Loader, especially for Users and Inventory, to do inital data migration. We were going to work out the required data elements for the loader. Is it worth going through all the details for Requests, Vendors etc. now ? Sharon: It is worthwhile, as we need these data models also for Reporting and in other functional areas. Harry: There is no question that this work is worthy, but do we need to do it here, for the loaders ? Anne: Let's first do Fines & Fees. Sharon: Let's have a schedule. Can we create a schedule in the wiki, which topic / functional area will be addressed when ? This will be useful, as I have to make appointments with other SMEs. – Dale will make a schedule. Ann-Marie: Dennis Bridges has authoritative data models, used by the developers, on dev.folio.org. We should check these first. |
25 mins | Continue discussion on data loader | various |
Meeting Notes Tod: There haven't been many comments on the requirements doc since our discussion last week, so that means that the requirements pass as they are ? Uschi: The main difference of the Batch Loader and the Initial Loader will be the required number of documents to be loaded per second. Ingolf: There are only three requirements that the Initial Loader does not have in common with the Batch Loader. Can't those be incorporated into the Batch Loader as well ? Ann-Marie: One big difference between the two Loaders is that the Initial Loader requiers a CLI interface. Harry: Ann-Marie will write the JIRA Tickets for the Loaders. She is doing an analysis of the crossover of the two Loaders. Right now, the loaders are linked in JIRA. It is worth waiting for Ann-Maries's analysis. Then we will meet with the developers. The meeting will include Ann-Marie, Patty and Christie Thomas. (next week & following weeks):
Dale will make a list in order and put it to the wiki. |
