Agenda
1. SC&A White Paper for FOLIO SIGs: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UUqL_oGvyGSonlfgUiS2pNpYrEYdgfKh2JFRppC1RCQ/edit. The White Paper should be ready for submission to and review by FOLIO PC at the end of August/beginning of September. Christie Peterson and Sarah Schmidt both pointed out that although rare book cataloging needs are mentioned in passing under the Metadata SIG, this section could use some beefing up. Sarah said that ALA RBMS is now represented on the FOLIO Metadata SIG.
2. SAA business. Nobody on the call will be at SAA in D.C., although their institutions should be well represented by other colleagues. Mike Thuman (Arkivum) offered to represent FOLIO and the SC&A WG at the conference. We can ask for a debrief when he gets back.
3. Genie Powell and Dustin Stokes from Atlas Systems will be on the WG's August 20 call. There is considerable interest in ensuring interoperability between FOLIO, Aeon, and ArchivesSpace, so WG members should try to attend and have questions ready. Catherine Uecker said that the University of Chicago has been using Aeon since 2009 and has a substantial investment in it. She also mentioned remote storage.
4. Other business. The members discussed adding SIG reports (as available and appropriate) to the call agendas going forward. AaronTrehub said that he would like to resume doing demos of archival management systems (AtoM, Calm, etc.).
The call ended at 2:15 PM Eastern/1:15 PM Central. The next call was scheduled for Monday, August 20 at 2:00 PM Eastern/1:00 PM Central at the same Zoom address.
