Agenda
There was no set agenda for this call. The attendees discussed the SC&A White Paper, expanding the WG's calls to include vendors and other players in the SC&A space, and housekeeping business. Main points:
- The main piece of current business for the WG is to finish the draft of the SC&A White Paper and submit it to the FOLIO Product Council for review and discussion. Aaron T. would like to submit the draft by the end of August. The draft can be found at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UUqL_oGvyGSonlfgUiS2pNpYrEYdgfKh2JFRppC1RCQ/edit
- Sebastian is talking with representatives of Atlas Systems (https://www.atlas-sys.com/) about FOLIO and SC&A needs. He would like to invite the representatives to join one of the WG's calls. Pablo mentioned that Harvard is working with Atlas on a couple of archives-related projects. The attendees agreed that it is a good time to broaden the WG's purview to include conversations with vendors, developers, and other potential partners. In this connection, Sebastian and Aaron T. mentioned recent conversations between Index Data and the LOCKSS team at the Stanford University Libraries. Aaron T. mentioned that Vancouver-based Artefactual Systems (https://www.artefactual.com/) has worked with LOCKSS on developing customized digital preservation apps. He added that Texas A&M, a FOLIO member, will be implementing Artefactual's AtoM archival management system (https://www.accesstomemory.org/en/).
- There were several housekeeping items:
- Aaron T. suggested reverting to the original time for future WG calls: 2:00 PM Eastern/1:00 PM Central (thanks to Sebastian for the correction). He will put this change in his next note to the WG.
- The attendees questioned the need for weekly calls, but agreed to keep things as they are for the time being.
- Aaron T. reminded the attendees that he intends to step down as the WG's convener at the end of 2018.
The call ended at 11:20 AM Eastern/10:20 AM Central. The next call was scheduled for Monday, July 30, at 2:00 PM Eastern/1:00 PM Central at the same Zoom address.
