"Writing Reports for the FOLIO Reporting App" Training

Stefan

Stefan will provide training on how to write reports that can be run from the new FOLIO Reporting App.

Presentation: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1xNbg9JlnYocoCqJIpT0IZPylALcIe5x99XRkX8MUSh4/edit?usp=sharing

Questions/Notes:

-the reports are written with user defined functions; see more information at https://github.com/folio-org/folio-analytics/wiki/Cookbook:-User-Defined-Function

-if a user runs a query in your metadb instance, it may block the tables being used for a user from the Reporting App (which may impact getting results from the Reporting App); perhaps create derived tables to point your reporting app queries to? Would be good to get more information on this from Corrie

-would be helpful to have a feature of organizing reports by type, e.g., acquisitions, circulation

"What is Reporting" Outline Review

Scott, Sharon

The FOLIO Product Council has asked the FOLIO Reporting SIG to provide a definition of reporting as it is used on the FOLIO Project. We will review and add to the outline that has been started. Feel free to add your thoughts and ideas to this page in the wiki:

Project updates

Reporting development is using small subgroups to address priorities and complete work on report queries.  Each week, these groups will share reports/queries with the Reporting SIG.  Reporting development team leads are encouraged to enter a summary of their work group activities below.

D-A-CH Working Group (D-Reporting)

  • The working group D-Reporting is planning its own repository on GitHub. https://github.com/folio-de/d-reporting Special requirements require a separate repository for the German community.

  • New Kanban-Board "Reporting DBS" created . This board contains all issues for the DBS under the EPIC REP-293: DBS-ClusterOpen. The EPIC is separate to the rest of the Jira issues from the Reporting SIG. The EPIC is also under the project "Reporting" not in "UXPROD" because it has not to be tracked for the whole FOLIO project. It can be seen more internally.

  • Ongoing topics: Workshopping, DBS statistics

  • Meetings: Contact @Stefan Dombek if you would like to get a calendar invitation

Metadb FOLIO User Group

  • Meetings

    • Contact @Nassib Nassar if you would like to get a calendar invitation

Product Council

Reporting SIG Documentation Subgroup

  • Orchid documentation is live on https://docs.folio.org/docs/

  • Poppy documentation is in development

  • Additional Context

    • The Reporting SIG has representation on the Documentation Working Group, which is building end-user documentation for https://docs.folio.org/docs/ (mostly linking to existing documentation over on GitHub)
