Announcements

Call for new volunteers for note taking rotation.

  • Contribute to the community in an easy way! With the rotating schedule, you only take notes about once a month. Sometimes less if meetings are canceled! It's pretty easy to get coverage if you have a conflict on your designated meeting day with your cohort of notetakers.

Reminder about next steps:

  • Confirm who would like to work on this

  • Schedule meeting for parking lot review for the entire SIG

  • Housekeeping of our wiki

    • Archive pages that are deprecated or obsolete

  • Encourage everyone to vote for Jira issues to indicate that you really want this to be developed

    • Helps influence PO development prioritization process

    • Same username and password as your Confluence account

  • Create a process with PO input on how to create Jira issues based on our Implementer topics

Ramsons’ Bulk edit and Data export updates

@Magda Zacharska

Presentation covers:

  • Data export and bulk edit in LC tenant structure

  • Export MARC instances marked for deletion in ECS (Via API)

  • Removing MARC fields before export

  • Bulk edit Instances Notes

Recordings of various demos are included in presentation slides

Discussion and questions:

  • From chat (re: export MARC records for deletion): When the underlying MARC is set to deleted. What happens with the instance? Answer: When record is marked deleted, we are dealing with the SRS record (based on the LDR 05 and the 005 date value); the Instance stays in inventory. Ryan Taylor: At Instance level, suppress from discovery and staff suppress are invoked; there is feature work to enhance that further.

  • Follow up question: How can the related Instances be identified when the MARC record is set to be deleted.
    Maybe I’m not all following how the best way is to ’clean’ up the data when either the instance or the MARC has been ”deleted”?

    We will follow up with this later with Ryan Taylor.

  • From chat (re: Removing MARC fields before export): What does PoC (Proof of Concept) for Ramsons mean in terms of availability for implementers? Answer: Everyone will get this as part of the Ramsons release.

Feedback on the version history

@Christine Schultz-Richert

Version history for Inventory and MARC authority apps (Orders already has this functionality)

Potentially different pattern for Inventory and MARC authority app: version will be hyperlinked and a modal will appear with detailed information of actions and changes.

Question: What is triggering a change?  Answer: It has to be changes to the content.

Question: Is there a distinction between individual edits and bulk edits? Maybe it doesn’t matter? Answer: It wouldn’t yet be able to distinguish the app that triggers the change but it would capture the changes made to record when it was either edited or imported but it won’t be able to say where the changes originated.

Question: Will it state what record HRID/UUID it was moved from? like Item from what Holdings & Instance, for example. Answer: Christine will follow up on that.

Question: Would there be any indication if an order was removed from one instance and added to another?  Answer: That will not be recorded in Inventory version history.
