Announcements

Call for new volunteers for note taking rotation.

  • With a rotating schedule you only take notes about once a month. Sometimes less if meetings are canceled! It's pretty easy to get coverage if you have a conflict on your designated meeting day with your cohort of notetakers.

Save the Date! WolfCon 2025 is September 22-26 in Kansas City, MO. Announcement forthcoming.

Implementers topic page

@Laura E Daniels @Jennifer Eustis @Lynne Fors

MM SIG Parking Lot was left as is.

Metadata Management Implementers Topics

New Implementers topics page was modeled after the Acq SIG page.

Demo and explanation of the page by Jennifer Eustis.

Can filter the list of Jira tickets by votes

Anyone with a Confluence account can add to the page.

This list is for functionality that we want to see enhanced and/or implemented.

Suggestion: Put the list of Jira tickets in the “expand” element to it is collapsed when just viewing the page.

What happens after topics are added to the the MM Implementer Topics?

  • Dedicate time at each meeting to discuss/review?

  • Dedicate a specific meeting regularly to discuss/review?

    • Can also invite the POs to the dedicated meeting

    • Agreement to have this be a regularly scheduled monthly meeting

    • Also need to ensure that the topics stay current

If you have a topic for Bulk Edit, Data Import or Lists app, where should it go?

  • Should go on the MM Implementer topic list as well as in the subgroups

  • Include FOLIO App (ex. Data Import, Inventory, Bulk Edit, Lists) column

  • Link to the subgroup discussion?

What do we do with the MM SIG Parking Lot?

  • Review parking lot in a meeting and make decisions

  • Move open topics to new Implementer topics page

  • Archive it for documenting decisions that were made

Next steps:

  • Confirm who would like to work on this

  • Schedule meeting for parking lot review for the entire SIG

  • Housekeeping of our wiki

    • Archive pages that are deprecated or obsolete

  • Encourage everyone to vote for Jira issues to indicate that you really want this to be developed

    • Helps influence PO development prioritization process

    • Same username and password as your Confluence account

  • Create a process with PO input on how to create Jira issues based on our Implementer topics

2025-01-16 Product Council Agenda & Meeting Notes

Announcements: WOLFcon 22-26 September in Kansas City. Volunteers for WOLFcon 2025 planning group, please reach out to @Jesse Koennecke

Calendar planning: Working on getting a Google Calendar. Next SIG convener meeting will be in February. Next PC meeting will be a presentation of Open RS/mod-ill (TCR-34)

Eureka timeline: EBSCO will go live with all their customers being moved to Eureka with the Sunflower release. A group of non-EBSCO institutions (Index Data, GBV, and TAMU) will be working together on setting up Community Eureka environment. The PC will await the vote on Eureka until the outcome of the test Eureka platform.

Jeremy Huff raised that he was worried about dropping the support of Okapi as early as Sunflower (R1 2025). Jennifer Eustis mentioned that she had done test on https://eureka-bugfest-ramsons.int.aws.folio.org then the systems has been down.

Kristin mentioned feature on app and platform formalization - UXPROD-4997 Package acquisitions modules into applications based on Eureka platform format - which is in scope for Sunflower.

Jennifer suggested that the PC could support the upgrade and transition process. According to Brooks, then the biggest changes would be updates of misc. scripting integrating 3rd party tools.

Kristin highlighted that already implemented libraries, who today use FOLIO on the Okapi platform, must be assured that the transition to the new platform will work smoothly.

Action Item: schedule a future meeting to talk about the changes to permissions with Eureka. Do we know of an expert who update MM SIG? Charlotte suggests Brooks.

BELA (Bulk Edit and Lists App)
