Miscellaneous Tips for Data Import
- When importing records that have previously been exported from a different FOLIO environment, be sure to remove the 999 ff field that contained the UUIDs of that other FOLIO environment. Otherwise, that will cause errors in the second FOLIO environment.
- Tips for recovering from failed data import jobs:
- If an update job fails and does not complete successfully you may need to re-run it. When you rerun the file, you may get database errors from records that were partially updated. Try removing the 999 field from your records and match on the hrid when you load the records. This may allow SRS to re-establish the relationship between the SRS record and the instance properly.
- Sometimes an instance may end up connected to two SRS records through a bug in a process. When this happens, try exporting via data export the SRS for that instance. Data export will return both records attached to the instance. Edit that file down to only the one correct MARC record, remove the 999, and then use an instance update profile to update the record. This should result in the instance being attached to only the one SRS record again.
