Data Import Documentation Archive
This area of DI documentation stores documentation for older versions of the app that is still potentially useful but is stored here to help with organizing the wiki.

- Creating and using profiles
A job profile contains all of the steps needed to complete an individual data import job - field mapping, action, and/or matching. Typically it is easier to think of a job profile "from the bottom up" in the interface and begin by configuring your field mapping profile, then its related action profile, then the match profile if applicable, and finally compiling them into an appropriate job profile.
- Data Import Logs
The default data import app landing page opens to a list of logs from previously executed data import jobs.
The columns on the display provide you with basic information about the import job, and clicking on the file name opens the log summary view.
OCLC Inventory single record import logs are suppressed from this view.

- File extensions
Settings > Data Import > File Extensions allows libraries to configure which file formats are allowed for import and which file formats are blocked and cannot be imported.
If a file has an extension that is NOT in the list as allowed or denied, the file can be uploaded and import can be attempted. If there are problems with the file structure or data, the import fails, and that is reflected in the Data import log.

- Miscellaneous Tips for Data Import
- When importing records that have previously been exported from a different FOLIO environment, be sure to remove the 999 ff field that contained the UUIDs of that other FOLIO environment. Otherwise, that will cause errors in the second FOLIO environment.
