Housekeeping

  • This (first) projekt phase will run until Feb 2022

  • Resource Management SIG reorganization

    • The Resource Management SIG and Acquisitions Group merge to form the Acquisitions SIG

    • ERM working group becomes top-level SIG

    • Open Access working group becomes top-level SIG

  • FOLIO Council Elections

    • Owen has been elected to the Product Council (congrats!)/ but schedule conflict with this meeting

    • contact author = person in contact with the library

    • corresponding author = person person in contact with the publisher

    • persons/authors can have more than one affiliation

    • only corresponding authors with affiliation to resp. university can profit from funds

    • most check author affiliation on Google/LDAP/RIS etc. and check if they are member of university/ which faculty/dept. 

    • Chat: Astrid: It is quite common that the author affiliation changes through the publication process, because the might leave/change, especially if it takes longer time. Institutions decide if the old or new one will be used (for payment and also for the "honor" of the publication).

    • relation to faculty important for reporting or a certain number of publication per faculty

    • info from which fund/faculty invoice will be paid from / maybe also for payment splits over price caps

    • Eloisa: identify people by ticket number (help desk system); also internal number for persons (manually generated on spreadsheet)

      • in DEAL it is important to distinguish between research and non-research article

    • Q: How is decision making from what fund will be payed? 

      • DFG will fund OA different for books and articles

      • sometimes receive invoice after publication, then possible to look for research funder in the article

      • sometimes it is not known directly where the research is funded from (you have to ask)
