Display Acquisitions Information on Instance and Item record in Inventory
Dennis: Are there any changes we need to make?
From Sara Colglazier (MHC/5C) to Everyone 12:06 PM Can you show the mock up?
From Scott Stangroom to Everyone 12:09 PM If order has info on number of simultaneous users for ebooks that wouldn’t necessarily be in the item record, then there’s that.
Julie: Use case I can think of is a serial person is investigating if a piece that arrived, is it part of a standing order, or a firm order.
From Bill Verner to Everyone 12:11 PM
Right, where multiple copies are concerned, it will be useful to know which item maps to which order #.
Julie: Since searching capabilities are different in inventory and in orders. Someone may be able to find the order in inventory, and want to easily navigate to the order record from inventory.
Dennis: In terms of displaying these bits of information, we'll be displaying the order line #, order status, receipt status. The order sent date, receipt date, order type, Acq unit. Are all of these fields still relevant when looking from the item perspective. Particularly the item status. Do we need to show a receipt status or receipt date on the item record.
From Sara Colglazier (MHC/5C) to Everyone 12:14 PM
Often the troubleshooting starts in Inventory but then has to end up in Order
Dennis: If we are showing a receipt date of the piece, that should tell you it's been received. What about the order sent date? When looking at the item record, are you concerned with the order sent date?
Kristin Martin: In this example you have a receipt date, but then you say it's awaiting the receipt.
Sara Colglazier: I think it's important to keep the wording in line because we are trying to emphasize there is a difference in between piece and item.
From Julie Brannon (she/her) to Everyone 12:24 PM
I see the Order type is listed on the mockup - would it also help to see Subscription Y/N so that you'll know whether an ongoing order is a standing order vs. subscription? Or is the order type (one-time vs. ongoing) enough info when viewing the item?
Dennis: Need to understand if something that is a subscription going to change how you follow up. That someone that isn't going to be able to see orders, knows how to follow up. Or who to follow up with.
From Sara Colglazier (MHC/5C) to Everyone 12:25 PM
+1 as a serials persons
From Martina Schildt to Everyone 12:27 PM
Yes, I think would make it easier to know who is responsible
Dennis: It's possible that an order is cancelled, but you are still waiting to receive, and able to receive.
From Sara Colglazier (MHC/5C) to Everyone 12:28 PM
a Q to the group: I am having trouble figuring out what to call Ongoing Non-Subscription records ...how are others referring to such in documentation etc?
From Dung-Lan Chen to Everyone 12:28 PM
Just wondering … for ongoing orders, can a link to the receiving history in Receiving App be made available in Inventory?
From Sara Colglazier (MHC/5C) to Everyone 12:29 PM
Also I could have Expected Pieces that are not Items, right? So that I could then see that in Receiving but not in Items ..So if I see that is a subscription that could be a clue to go look
Dennis: Do we still want to display Acquisitions unit?
Dennis: We are done with instance and item. Please make sure you prioritize these features.
