Housekeeping

  • All: Please edit the attendees list below and indicate when you are there!

  • Next ERM meeting:  May 29, 2024

  • All questions and ERM implementers' topics can be posted on: ERM implementers.

  • PC meetings

  • Subgroup meetings

    • Agreements Local KB subgroup (Martina Schildt):

The Agreements Local KB subgroup had 2 meetings on the following topics:

      • Owen Stephens updated the group on recent changes to the Local KB

      • Sabrina Bayer presented on  how they use Agreements Local KB at University Library Regensburg

    • eHoldings subgroup (Zorian Sasyk):

      • The group has had two meetings so far, focusing mainly on a) establishing an eHoldings implementers list of topics for discussion and possible user stories and b) starting to discuss these issues in meetings. So far, we have discussed the behavior of eHoldings-based external Agreement Lines, both in the Agreements apps search as well as within eHoldings package and title records. This work has generated several user stories and further higher level discussion about Agreements/AGLs in FOLIO.

Agenda items

  1. Development progress - ERM sprint 189

  2. Quesnelia functionality across ERM apps

  3. Announcements

Minutes

Development progress update

  • sprint 189

  • most of the time has been taken with issues around Quesnelia release

  • significant issues with modules crashing - seems to be related to upgrade to Grails 6 > difficult problem to diagnose

  • couple of fixes already done - there are some release to come to update modules

  • due to issues > testing is not done

Quesnelia functionality across ERM apps

  • slide deck link follows

  • Upgrade to Grails 6 - was needed because Grails 5 is coming out of support

    • was a lot of work and there are still some issues

  • Review and implement table key constraints and indexes in Licenses and Agreements

    • some constraints and indexes were missing in underlying database > addition improves performance and integrity

  • Performance improvements for Agreements

    • around use of local KB and syncing with external source

    • this is ongoing work

  • in Local KB Admin > info log messages: have been consolidated into fewer messages > summaries for each package in one line (instead of multiple)

  • To further improve performance: Agreements > Local KB > search: identifiers check box is not checked by default

    • can be checked if needed by users

    • filtes behind the scenes (on the backend) have been changed > make search faster, but are not noticeable for user

    • long-term solution: implement Elastic Search/ Open Search

  • Initial work to improve equity between data synced to the Agreements Local KB and the data source

    • new field will be added which records how many titles are in a package according to the remote data source

    • Ultimately, users will be able to compare this number to the number of titles stored in the local KB

    • at the moment not exposed to the users in the UI - but available via the API

  • a lot of the work is ongoing work

  • new filters for documents in Licenses have been added

    • filter for documents now aligns with Agreements documents filters

  • Support has/has not filters for Licenses and Amendments

  • UX improvements for Licenses

    • pagination for results screen

    • settings: 4 panes for pick lists - search and filter list of pick list values

  • UX improvements for Agreements

    • settings: 4 panes for suppl. properties pick lists - search and filter list of pick list values

    • switched to pagination in Agreements across the board

    • MCL column display options added

  • Settings > Local KB Admin > external data source and proxy server settings

    • changed layout - goal: be consistent

    • 4 pane display

  • Question by Phil in chat (related to Grails): Are we now using 6.2.0?

    • Owen: needs to check and will post in Slack

  • Zorian: UI updates for Agreements are regardless of which external source is used (e.g. eholdings)?

    • Owen: yes

Announcements

  • Martina will step back as convener of ERM SIG

  • Nina will be stepping in as co-convener of ERM SIG
