May 29: Quarterly Update | Oversubscribed registration. Max of 84 simultaneous attendees on Zoom and 7 on YouTube. 102 total attendees according to Zoom. Missing Harry! Good question-and-answer session. Need to revisit linked data and FOLIO and Codex, authority control (entity management app). Demo took a lot of time. Consider swapping order next time? It felt like a weird order – better to go from general to specific. With a full roadmap update, it could have easily gotten too long. Much more exciting to see an instance that is being implemented. Interesting implementation case with the cataloging done at the Swedish national library – it is not native MARC and is being translated into inventory. Face-to-face desire to talk about authority management and a vision for what the inventory app should be. Nice tweet. Try to repeat the demo part with a live institution. Chalmers again with integration with EDS? Cornell, TAMU, UChicago? Can we sneak in a roadmap update with Harry before the face-to-face meeting? Or even after the face-to-face (informed by the face-to-face meeting outcomes)?
June 17-19: FOLIO In-Person meeting | Opening meeting and closing meeting – recorded, not live-streamed. To be put out shortly after the meeting ends. Agenda still being formulated, more soon.
June 22 (10am): Recording/Livestreaming ALA Presentations | Panel: Chalmers University of Technology – we're hosting ourselves, so streaming/recording rights seem clear. Use this as a topic for a FOLIO Forum. Novel Collaborations: Pioneering New Models for Library/Vendor Partnerships (repeat panel from ER&L) – Jesse, Andrew, Lynn. Use ER&L recording? If not, can we record an ALA program? (Kate is checking.) If not, repeat this as Forum? Rachel will check with submitter for ALA around permissions. Peter Murray to check with Eric Hartnett about posting the ER&L video.
?July 10 or 17: Panel Discussion of Outcomes from Working Meeting | Some POs present based on what happens in June
?August: Panel Discussion of Vendor Partners and Libraries | Moderator: Peter Murray | Depending on whether ALA is streamed. Include discussions with libraries about how they envision other libraries getting involved. About vendor involvement – from the vendor perspective and the library perspective. Include discussion of KB vendors invited to the face-to-face meeting. |
?September???: Open Library Foundation | Host: Ginny Boyer | To talk holistically about the communities in the Foundation: the ones that exist, the ones that are coming on. Talk about the idea of scope for the FOLIO project as it relates to the goals of these communities coming onboard. To include members of the OLF Board, ideally. Branding as "OLF Forum" versus "FOLIOForum" Rachel reached out to Ginny about this. September might be good timing. |
?: "Beyond ILS” session: Research/Special Collections | On hold for now. Sebastian is confirming with participants. Preceded by Sebastian/Christopher/Michael with a session about where we are on the project. What we've discussed with Resource Sharing, for instance.
?: Panel Discussion of Early Implementers/Adopters Partners | Session on how Chalmers went and what the plans are from others. Representatives from TAMU and UChicago.
Codex | in order to put pressure on ourselves to make some decisions around Inventory and Codex
