Troubleshooting FOLIO Order API Problems

If an order placed on the vendor site does not appear in FOLIO, try these steps:

  1. Did FOLIO receive the order data from the vendor?

    1. Search the FOLIO Orders app POLs by title or Product ID. Maybe filter by vendor and created date of today.
    2. Not there? Make sure it's not just hidden to you (e.g. assigned to an acquisition unit that you cannot view).
    3. Still not there? Check the edge-orders, mod-gobi, and mod-orders logs, probably in that order. This will require help from your SysOps or Hosting Provider. 
      1. If the data is found in the logs, check for any error messages that would explain why the order creation failed (e.g. invalid fund, required data missing)
  2. If no order data is found anywhere in FOLIO, contact the vendor
    1. Confirm that the order data was sent
    2. Can the vendor send a copy of the API message (order data) to you to review?
    3. Did the vendor receive confirmation from FOLIO that the order data was received?
    4. If the vendor has an option to validate the API connection between their system and FOLIO, have them try it, to ensure the connection is configured properly.
    5. Does the vendor's FOLIO setup/configuration for your edge-orders API need to be adjusted?
    6. The vendor may also need to review logs or any error messages on their end
