WOLFcon 2024

WOLFcon BELA working session has been approved and it is scheduled for September 24th at 3:00 PM BST (10:00 AM EST) The meeting will be in hybrid format.

Ramsons release updates

  • Bulk edit (Kanban Board)

    • Instance notes

      • Staff only option available when adding an instance note

      • Find and replace for many types of Instance notes (e.g., Funding information note).

    • MARC fields

      • Only 5xx and 9xx fields can be changed at this time.

      • Subfields - only one value allowed

      • Actions: Add subfields or Find and replace

      • Only exact search available at this time. Search with wildcard possibly available in Sunflower or Trillium.

  • Lists app (Kanban board) - Kathleen will provide an overview of what’s coming in Ramsons

    • Permissions per record type; limit access to Lists app based on user’s content permissions (Lists app permission(s) + Record type permission(s))

      • Limit viewing and filtering of lists based on content permissions. Lists not accessible to user are hidden from user’s view.

      • Error messaging if content permissions are unassigned

      • Limit record types for creating a list based on content permissions.

    • Composite record types

      • Combine or entity types

      • Builds flexibility to allow users to combine subsets of record types into different combinations of record types.

      • User will see many more fields available in a record type.

      • Basic list of fields still available

      • Example: Instance status + Inventory status + Mode of issuance = New Composite Record

      • FQM = FOLIO Querying Machine

    • Support for Consortia: Search records across tenants in ECS-enabled environment

Query Builder - Operator values

  • Feedback needed: display values as symbols or text? Slides

    • Symbols are not accurately read with screen readers

      • = changed to “equals”; != changed to “not equal to”

    • Consensus from group: If some of the symbols must be text, then all of the symbols should be text.

    • Text will require localization; symbols were international
