Display preferred first name throughout the user record (UXPROD-3467)Patty
  • Preferred first name in checkout in Lotus
  • SIG decided that both first name and preferred first name would show up in a browse search for preferred first name (i.e., Last Name, Preferred First Name (First Name), Middle Initial).
  • SIG decided that the user record should show LastName, PreferredFirstName at the top of the user record in the Checkout modal.
  • Need to figure out how to show preferred first names in Tokens for Notices. (Julie Bickle, PO for Notices, is seeking a development team.)
  • Folijet can work on this.

The Folio project is looking for Product OwnersPatty

A Product Owner gathers requirements, writes user stories, gets wireframes, and smooths out stories with developers.  It's about 10 hours a week.

Products that were noted as needing a PO: Item status changes for bulk edits; and Loans.

Protect fields from being overwritten by user import (UXPROD-242)Patty
  • This requires more stories. Then we should look at mockups and get it to a development team.
  • Libraries that are live on Folio currently protect fields by managing individual records manually.
    • This feature should protect the records once and it would continue to do so until it's deactivated by staff.
  • Should this feature flag an entire user record, or just specific fields? SIG favors protection of entire user record at this time.
  • This feature should have permissions to assign to staff, and not just be available to all users.
  • If an entire user record is frozen, then the user import can't update it.  Staff can update the record manually.
