Draft text for PDD intro, to expand context beyond compliance | Adam | DRAFT: The purpose of this form is to disclose the types of personal data1 (PD) stored by each module. This information enables those hosting FOLIO to better manage and comply with various privacy laws and restrictions, e.g. GDPR. Decision: Put draft text in email's, SIG description, etc, but leave it out of the form. "It should be noted that the requirement libraries have to responsibly manage personal data goes beyond regulatory compliance. Libraries have a tradition as advocates for intellectual freedom and privacy of their users, all of whom need space for private exploration and experimentation in pursuing scholarly and creative endeavors." Do other members of Privacy SIG find it problematic that FOLIO staff UI only supports Google Chrome? | Adam |
The project decided (in Montreal) to target all latest browser versions, but testing infra only supports Chrome so it has become the defacto standard. There is some concern about the additional testing workload (efforts to support cross-platform testing stalled in the past) Generally, the SIG supports any efforts to improve cross-platform compatibility but understands the competing priorities. We will bring that up with the Product Council (they own the Roadmap) | |
