Enhancements to Inventory/Quick Marc

Inventory holdings: The URI box in the holdings record is really small. It does expand, but I can imagine someone not noticing a URL was really long and only editing part of it and mangling it all up.

  • the text fields should be responsive
  • should be raised as a UX feature UXPROD
  • Martina Schildt creates a UXPROD - UXPROD-4431 - Getting issue details... STATUS
  • this will be added to the topics for a call with the UX/UI designers and members of Stripes team

QuickMarc: If the field and tags and indicators are empty, it would be nice if the line gets deleted automatically instead of having to go back and delete after error message

  • broader issue: if MARC tag is blank → error; with blank subfields, saving is possible
  • behaviour is not consistent
  • if no tag, but data in the field, then the error message makes sense
  • inform Christine Schultz-Richert → Natascha Owens and Laura E Daniels  will take care and follow up

Inventory instance: Ability to copy call number from Holdings accordion in Instance record

  • is Inventory specific
  • clipboard would be useful
  • is specific to header lines
  • or highlight heading (not delete)
  • could it be fixed in a Stripes component
  • Charlotte Whitt will check with Michal Kuklis whether that is an easy fix

Inventory holdings: When viewing a Holdings or Item record, the Instance HRID should display at top of record where Instance info is being displayed (both in view mode and in edit mode)

  • that would be quick an easy to solve
  • UI only task - needs a ticket
  • Natascha Owens will write up a ticket for the issue

Inventory holdings: After editing a holdings record the current option is to "save and close"-- in Kiwi people have complained that after hitting this button, the Holdings record closes momentarily sending them back to the Instance record but then the Holdings record pops up again. It seems that some people would like to save and close the record without having to see the Holdings record in "view" mode (and just be sent directly back to the Instance record) and some people would like to be able to save the Holdings record and still see it in view mode. Perhaps there is a way to accommodate both scenarios?

  • will be discussed in MM
  • Natascha will update the requirement after this call

Inventory items: Ability to reorder (and save the order of) item records

  • UXPROD-1625 - Getting issue details... STATUS

  • description will be updated; ticket was created a long time ago

  • Laura E Daniels will write up a better description
  • MM SIG will pick up the discussion
  • possible topic for the call with UX/UI designers on Monday - Martina Schildt will add as possible topic to the relevant agenda

Inventory holdings: Ability to reorder (and save the order of) Holdings records

  • UXPROD-1635 - Getting issue details... STATUS
  • description will be updated; ticket was created a long time ago

  • Laura E Daniels will write up a better description
  • possible topic for the call with UX/UI designers on Monday - Martina Schildt will add as possible topic to the relevant agenda

Inventory instance/holdings/items: Customization: the ability to choose, at the tenant level, not to display any elements the institution has decided not to use.

  • UXPROD-2212 - Getting issue details... STATUS
  • Epic for customization: UXPROD-1732 - Getting issue details... STATUS
  • could be solved with templates

Inventory holdings/items: Ability to change color scheme to distinguish Holdings from Items (or some other way to make it clearer on first glance which type of record one is in, in edit mode in particular)

  • could be solved with templates as well
  • discussion will be continued in MM SIG
