Goals for 2024

Training

• Training/Information on customizing LDP/Metadb for your own institution, such as integrating your own repository in the data warehouse, integrating your own tables, integrating other data sources, etc.

• Build a series of introductory training videos focused on learning the FOLIO data model in different functional areas and how FOLIO data can be queried in LDP1/Metadb (Build Training Program for FOLIO Data Model) -

• Transitioning from LDP to Metadb - keep training, and important for institutions to move to Metadb in January 2024

• More Metadb Training - implementing, using, etc.

• Develop Reporting App training

Development

• Review completeness of porting all LDP1 derived tables to versions that work for Metadb (Port LDP1 derived tables to Metadb)

• Add comments to metadb tables

• Build a directory of extracted and derived tables 

• Continue to build query cookbook-style documentation in the FOLIO Analytics wiki

• Form Subteam to Explore Data Integrity Verification

Community

• Ask institutions to share their experiences implementing different kinds of reporting solutions

• Discuss use of Reporting App

• Encourage community feedback on use of various reporting solutions, e.g., LDP, LDPLite, Metadb, Reporting App, Knime, BI, CloudBeaver, Lists, etc.

  • Creating a detailed overview (matrix or document) of the various reporting options:
    
    

    • Look at multiple layers for each reporting option
      
      

      • Datasource, e.g. FOLIO

      • How are the data collected? E.g. with Metadb

      • Database, e.g. POSTGRES

      • Possibility of data presentation, e.g. connection to third-party software (Tableau, Knime, Crystal Reports etc.)

• Establish a regular schedule of recruitment for new SIG members (Recruit from new institutions not represented)

• Establish a quarterly schedule of outreach for reporting activities (e.g., FOLIO Forum presentations, WOLFcon presentations, direct communication with community members and institutions) 

  • maybe each development group can go to SIGs and give update/presentation on Metadb, LDP Reporting App, LDLite, query repositories (maybe a few times a year)

• Define what we are doing - what is in scope, what is out of scope; build a shared understanding of what the Reporting SIG goals are and communicate that clearly

  • Could have subgroups come up with mission statements, share those with the Reporting SIG

  • Could arrange a conversation in SIG meetings to hear everyone's thoughts on participation, roles, etc.
