Minutes

Development progress update

  • work on entitlement log; for the internal KB
    • addition of new fields
  • work on migration of code test
  • small UX improvements
  • settings for Local KB Admin: Synchronization status is displayed for external data source

Implementers topics

  • Owen started to act on some of the topics that were discussed in previous meetings
  • Freeze NEW button in settings - if time work will be picked up in this sprint
  • Owen is wrriting up a story for line 43 today → count column
  • New topics:
  • Line 45: Improvements to display of resources that are subscribed through an agreement
    • if coverage needs to be checked or the user wants to know the URL to the platform → in case user searches in e-resources tab
    • options: put more information in the agreements for this e-resource accordion that gives information on URL or coverage
    • or add link to PCI
    • in eholdings: link from individual title or package to agreement is existing - instead of link to agreement line
      • display full agreement line record or highlight the relevant agreement line on the agreement
      • Jack in chat: I'd prefer the full agreement line record - Then in the cases where I only have 1 it takes me directly there instead of highlighting just the 1 attached AGL
      • Owen: display full agreement line might be easier
      • possible: link to agreement and agreement line
    • Felix: same with Orders: the POL display related "Agreement lines" in the accordion header, but in fact points to the agreement instead
    • Martina S. raised that issue with Dennis Bridges as PO for orders; this should be changed
    • Sara: it makes more sense to link to the Agreement line as this is what is ordered
    • Martina S. in chat: +1 Sara
    • Kristin: in Inventory the search matches are highlighted in yellow; e.g. if user searches for barcode
    • Search for instances with title "Journal of" or "mode of issuance" = serial
    • copy a barcode and search for an item using the barcode search → the item with the matching barcode is highlighted → but the record is not displayed with full information, and the user still needs to scroll down if there is a list of multiple items on the relevant instance
    • Jack in chat: I think this reinforces Kristin's comment that this is helpful but maybe we could find something better for Agreements....
    • Owen notes 2 actions:
      • Talk to KB about link on  eHoldings screen - suggest link to Agreement Line rather than agreement? (or both). Esp. applies to eHoldings screen for title (vs package)
      • Investigate options for better display on eResource screen "Agreements for this resource" where AL is for package - need more specific information - preferred approach to have link to the relevant PCI
    • being able to sort the list of agreement lines and e-resources would be a huge benefit
    • Sage example:
    • Given: An active agreement with an agreement line for the package "Sage: E-Journals"

      1. Load this JSON file into the internal KB
      2. Create an agreement and link the package "Sage: E-Journals"
      3. Open Agreements > E-resources
      4. Search for eISSN 1552-3039 and open the record in the third pane (details)

There is no way to tell from this page that this journal is no longer accessible via the agreement. It has the active end date "2020-12-31". The user has to open the agreement, switch to the tab with dropped resources and perform a search with the browsers search tools (CTRL + F) for the name of the journal.

    • wish to display more information, e.g. that title has left the package
    • or wish to not display the title
    • Kristin in chat: I like the exclamation mark
    • suggestion: add accordion for "previous agreements" for this e-resource
    • Owen will investigate on options to display information on dropped/future PCIs
  • Line 46: ERM comparisons: Make Comparison points hyperlinks
    • straightforward suggestion; Owen will write a ticket
  • Line 48: ERM comparisons: Freeze table heading
    • might be complex
    • Owen will investigate
    • Sara: freezing table heading is useful across the board → added as another line (50)
    • Martina S. will take the request to the App Interaction SIG → Sara this is needed especially for less familiar users of the system
  • ERM comparisons: Sort by (line 49)

    • Owen will investigate and report back to the group
  • The discussed implementers topics will be added as an agenda item in a few weeks time again → Owen will then report back

Von Jack Mulvaney an alle:  02:24 PM
I was also just thinking about what Sara is describing
I finished adding around 230 titles to my Taylor & Francis eJournal agreement and now I'm wondering how to actually show people how to get to the info they need without loading 10 more 23 times

I'd prefer the full agreement line record

Then in the cases where I only have 1 it takes me directly there instead of highlighting just the 1 attached AGL

I think this reinforces Kristin's comment that this is helpful but maybe we could find something better for Agreements....
