Consortial Ticket Review

  • Continue the process of reviewing Jira tickets

Dennis

Ticket review:

Do we need the Consortia label for some of these? If any question, leave it on and decide later.

Added a new label consortia-interest more as an issue that our group can watch, but let other groups push forward. Got most of the way through the remaining items, should be able to finish out next meeting. Then start prioritizing?

FOLIO ECS Update from Oct 2 (continued)

Dennis

Dennis continued reviewing the FOLIO ECS Update slide deck from October 2024 which includes: What does it do today? What will it do tomorrow? Why is this exciting for FOLIO?

Today, ECS offers a single point of entry with multiple institutional affiliations; centralized admin tools; central, shared, and local data; and core OAI-PMH capabilities for both central and local tenants.

Ramsons will offer consortium-level management of roles and policies; a new action that allows users to ‘Update ownership’ for Items & Holdings across affiliations; the ability for FOLIO-only ECS environments to circulate, loan, and request materials at both title and item levels across multiple tenants; mediated requesting; bulk editing in the central tenant; central tenant ability to export records based on custom profiles from affiliated member tenants; options for central tenant acquisitions (ordering and receiving); and the ability for central tenant administrators to export data from all underlying tenants and create central lists.

See complete slide deck at the link above.

Outstanding Issues/Announcements/Quick topics

  • Ramsons bugfest ECS-enabled environment summary (highlights - if more info needed, will invite specific POs) - Dennis

  • What is a bug? How to report? - Dennis

  • Any other updates?

  • Next Meeting Tuesday February 4

All

Okapi version of bugfest testing is complete. Eureka version of Ramsons is close to complete. Challenging bugfest since there were essentially 4 different bugfests at the same time: ECS-disabled; ECS-enabled; and Eureka and Okapi versions of both. Second pass-through is essentially complete. Not a lot of bugs reported; those that were found were mostly within Eureka. Current GA date for Ramsons is February 3, which appears to be a realistic date.

The “what is a bug” discussion will wait until next time. There were no other updates.
